It was glorious. People really shouldn't underestimate just how fantastic we are. Standing in the Stretford end, I saw 6 blades of grass grow in that second half. Awesome!

Next week I hear they're painting the fascia. 76,000 will be watching that dry.

At HT I said to my littlun, right you're going to enjoy the 2nd half bcos United are going to be attacking our goal. Then... apart from the goal in the first few minutes, and a half chance from Mata at the near post we didn't see a United player in that 18 yard box for the next 35 mins <laugh> The free kick in added time being the remaining highlight.

I felt desperately sorry for my boy to be honest. The excitement of being at Old Trafford (he has been before tbf) and then to stand there for the majority of the match with fck all happening, particularly in that 2nd half was just a massive disappointment.

I think the most frustrating part of the match, other than the way we kept giving the ball away (so much for possession football), was the lack of belief to play the ball forward. So many times the ball came to midfield and the crowd could see the through ball or the pass that was on, only to watch Shneiderlin or Valencia or Schweinsteiger or Blind turn and pass it sideways and back, to the collective groan of disappointment from most of the crowd. At one point the fellas around me starting singing "Lets go round again!" <laugh>

Smalling was excellent as was Mata. As for Rooney - any other player and he'd be benched at the very least by now.

Really don't think Darmian on the left and Valencia/Young on the right worked at all to be honest.

Oh and that ref. Fck me that has to be the worst display by a ref I've seen in years. If it wasn't for the pen, I'd swear he was on the take. Either that or the fcker's got some spot betting going on somewhere.
