you going tomorrow cuz? i've only got a ticket because my mates gf is due on the 3rd of sept and he isn't taking any chances so i had it.
The most goals he has ever scored in a season is 12. That is pathetic for a striker and the Premiership is of much higher quality than the French League.
His record is atrocious in an inferior league and it's not like he's a young player with potential, he's 26 years old. His record is far worse than Chamakh's who hasn't exactly been a revelation at Arsenal himself. If he was at the end of most attacking moves then his finishing must be awful with his scoring record. The French Champions Lille valued him at just £3m You say he is a creative player which is exactly what Arsenal don't need. Arsenal have plenty of creativity but no natural goalscorers bar Van Persie.
Why was his record before joining Monaco so poor? Why were Lille only prepared to pay £3m for him? Why does he only have 17 goals in 53 games for his country as a striker, especially when the majority of teams they face in qualifiers are of very poor quality?
I just can't understand why Wenger is spending £10m on a player with a poor scoring record when one of Arsenal's weaknesses is that they don't have any natural goal scorers apart from Van Persie. He signed Chamakh, who had a better record than Park Chu-Young in Ligue 1, and he has hardly been a hit. He's also signed Gervinho who isn't a natural goal scorer either. He just seems to sign players who are creative but who don't score many.
