As far as I can see the players aren't giving 100% so you can't expect the public to reciprocate .
    It's just languid!

Only player i'll bash at the minute for England is Hart (ok maybe there is a couple more like smalling but in general theyre alright and I will still support them if they do play), what a dogshit keeper he is, always got a mistake in him. that's all. England to win the world Cup :emoticon-0100-smile

Oh come on... do people really say that? I’ve never heard it.

I know lots of people who were massively into England and now don’t give a toss, but I don’t know anyone who chooses to support another country. That’s just ****ing weird*

    *unless they have dual citizenship.

And yet he's probably played more England games this century than any other goalie and not made major howlers like Seaman, Carson, James, Green did.

This is a perfect example. If Hart wasn't England's number 1 he wouldn't get anywhere near the criticism he does. Beckham used to get it. Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry all got castigated simply for being high-profile England players.

Hart was always massively ****e. I used to spit my martini when commentators said he was the best in the world.

And this isn’t new or ‘trendy’, I’d wager you can find posts from on this subject from 5 years ago.

yeah sorry I agree with all the other stuff about England that you post but hart is and generally always has been ****. concedes so many easily saveable goals and the fact he has more caps than those you've mentioned is because weve greatly lacked in that position up until recently. he made 2 from memory in the last euros which were simple shots. give me seaman :bandit: over hart any day of the week

I think PLT makes a decent point, England bashing has become de rigueur nowadays and it's a bit twattish.

Though I agree with comments above, Hart's always been massively overrated, I wouldn't even have him in the squad.

The three England keepers going to Russia should be Butland, Pickford and Heaton/Pope.

Have you ever heard anyone say what he said in that they no longer support England cos another foreign team is better? I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone even ‘England Bash’.

The only change I’ve heard is people say they’ve lost interest or - like me - they’ve never been interested. I’ve been to 2 England games in my life, one for the history and occasion of the last game at old Wembley, and on both occasions I felt absolutely zero towards the game. The only game I watched at the last Euros was vs Wales and that was cos work let us and it wasn’t in my own time.

I never mentioned anyone stopping supporting England to support another country, mainly because I'm not aware of anyone ever doing so.

We never have an England thread on here without having people claiming England are ****, many seemingly taking great delight in doing so, I just don't get it.

Yeah I know you didn’t. I asked if you’d heard of it in the way that PLT said he had.

They are better to watch that doesn' t mean I would want them to beat us.
What are we in America now being Un- American.
I just doesn't bother me if we lose like it used to.
There's a hell of a lot more important things in life I'm afraid.

Sounds like these people you know were just bandwagon jumper onerers to me. Did they wear them three quarter length England trackie bottoms?
How can you be massively into England and then not be. Did they get suckered by the press into thinking England should win the World Cup cos we got "becks"....

Exactly. I could name 50 teams that are better to watch than City, I wouldn’t want any of them to beat us.

It’s really not the same thing.
