Michael Carrick has already said he wants to finish his career at Man Utd and who could blame him?

Carrick is not the kind of player that we buy as his wages and more importantly his age are too high.

While he's playing regularly for Man Utd & England he will not even be thinking about a move away.
You only need to look at players like Wes Brown & John O'Shea to see that most players released/sold by Man Utd are past their best.

Nicky Butt did well for us for a while but never reached his previous heights.

Tiote is a decent squad option for us and I wouldn't let him leave for less than £10m. <ok>

On current form, no team in their right mind would pay £10m for him.

£10 million for a squad player at a bottom half premier league club? :emoticon-0104-surpr

urgh. Couldn't stand the sight of him by the time he left, he was bloody useless by the end, only one thing in his mind when he got the ball... HOOF!!!!

you can keep Tiote he is not what we need, and no way you guys are taking Carrick but the likes of Young, Anderson and Welbeck would surely get more games for you guys then us.

£10m because we would need to replace him and someone of his age and ability would cost that to replace.

No, I don't think he's worth that but if we start selling players based on current form, we will ebd up out of pocket. <ok>

You have to think like a salesman (Ashley) and project the player value when they are bang in-form.

I think you need to have a balanced overview of Tiote. Sure, he's not playing well just now and hasn't for a year but he was blazing a trail before so we know what he's capable of.

£10m would allow us to replace him with someone of a similar age and a more consistent performer. <ok>

I was thinking this myself. Surely you have bought an enforcer in Feillani (his best position) and now need some culture alongside him to pick locks/create.

Carrick has long been one of my favourite English players but I wouldnt trade, maybe plus cash if we had a replacement lined up but no other way. Tiote and Carrick are two very different players and we need the muscle in our midfield. We have Cabaye to unpick defenses for us so would Carrick come and essentially second fiddle to him? I doubt it but either way this is so unlikely it's unbelievable it made it to print.
