Strong rumours abound this morning, mainly on 6music, that the Roses may re-unite. I personally hope that this does not happen, the were undoubtably the blueprint for British Indie music for the last 20 odd years, but lads please don't taint your legacy, it would be as bad as The Jam reforming, thanks for the memories but leave it as that, don't become like the Specials etc. .... glorified cabaret! I'm glad they're all talking, but surely they don't need the money?
there will be a press release this sfterrnoon on whether or not the Roses will reform and dates for gigs next summer. split mind on this, one part of me says yeah it will be great as I never got to see them, the other is unless they write new material, like the Verve did, and continue with the band and their solo projects, forget it otherwise it's just another money making excercise, basically becomes a circus.
