Tunns, I was eagerly listening to 6 last night from 9.00pm to catch a rare recording of The Smiths live and by the time I gave up and went to sleep it still hadn't been on.

Don't they realise that the average Smiths fan is a 40odd year old bloke who needs to be in bed by 11.00!!??

Bastards, I missed it. Some good tunes played though, bit of Buzzcocks and Magazine etc.

You should be able to go-online and hear through the iplayer or podcast.

mark reilly's show in the evening is really good(for a bertie) plays all the right stuff, and an eclectic mix too, with old & new.

i've been listening to alot of the chameleons stuff lately, slowly getting the cds through the mighty amazon, don't know whether you'll remember them? they we're from rochdale a mix between early cure and joy division, with an ever so slight hint of the smiths. Real cult bansdbetween '81 to about '87 i think, big favourite with tony wilson & john peel.

buzzcocks/magazine & the clash my teenage heroes ....... along with little lou! throw a bit of northern & the jam into that mix and that's basically the sound track to my youth

 

....oh and a certain mr bowie, roxy music, lou reed, some reggae and so on and so on!

 

Went on Amazon t'other day and bought some varied stuff for the car;

Van Halen - Van Halen
Adele - 21 (because my girlfriend had never heard of her!!)
Plan B - Defamation fo Strictland Banks and the new Arctic Monkeys and Laura Marlin ones.

Haven't played the Monkeys but the rest are good, suprised by the Plan B one. Van Halen is epic, an old fave of mine from when I was a kid.
