I know what you mean but I think if it's done proper it works Ever heard of Dr Alimantado? If not get the album called 'Best Dressed Chicken in Town' - proper old good dancehall reggae - Also he's on this along with other mixes of the famous 'Ali Barber' song
Check the pics of the skinhead footy hooligans.
Probably one of my all time favourite reggae singers - Carlton Livingston Also 'Capital Letters' are a top band (and English)
Definitely download 'Battle for Seattle'. I love it, it's an album of Nirvana covers in a reggae style. And I hate Nirvana. Listening to the Ali Baba mix now, looking good.
Sorry for the multiple posts!! Ive seen **** loads of live reggae - By a country mile the best live band Ive seen are 'Steel Pulse'. Funnily enough an English band! Kids that met at school in Birmingham and decided to start a band. This performance is top notch -
Im not much into hip hop rap but back in the day Eminem was the man. My music tastes are cheesy dance music, hard dance and underground bouncy house from back in the late 90s early 00s. The sound was common around Liverpool, Manchester, Wigan, Blackburn, Blackpool at the time played at some rough clubs like Maximes, 051, Sunrise, Wigan pier, Zone, Monroes and others. Something like this...
seen these too, back in 78 i think it was, at a rock against racism concert in manchester, they had the single klu klux klan out at the time - still very relevant lyrics today ...sadly. Can't remember much about the event, seem to remember pete tosh played, but that could of been another event.
