ahem... july... he won't be in court til mysteriously after the euros.

the crown courts and fa should really not be colluding. it reflects badly on the courts.

You might have a point - apart from the fact it's a magistrates court and i would be stunned if there really was any collusion <ok>

Chelsea requested the case be adjourned until after the season had finished, and the kind employee of the CPS duly obliged and even added an extra couple of months on for England's benefit.

This is all opinion though isn't it? We could all say that the powers that be have done favours to certain clubs throughout the ages but it would be hard to prove it. Cases do take time to come to court so it could, of course, be that CPS need this time to deal with it. For the record my own view is that it should have been dealt with in the same way as the Suarez case (not that I really agree with how that one went but in the interests of consistency etc...)

I've got no axe to grind Chippy,im just stating the 'facts' as i found them, and just another point about the delay though is that the same court thats dealing with the JT case had last summers rioters charged, tried and jailed in a matter of weeks when there was presumably more paperwork, investigation etc required for those cases.

As for your point about "the powers that be" doing certain clubs favours in the past i assume you mean the FA,because i cant think of or remember the CPS ever helping a club and a nation to achieve their season/tournament ambitions before British justice is served(one way or the other).

"Perhaps Terry regrets that letter from Chelsea's chief executive, Ron Gourlay, asking the judge to delay the trial until out of season.
Defendants are not usually treated so obligingly. If they were, Tottenham Hotspur and Harry Redknapp could have asked for his court case to be put off to this summer, too.
Instead we have an alleged public order offence from autumn 2011 going to court in summer 2012 because the judge was told it would be difficult for Terry and anybody else who might be needed from Chelsea to take time off during the season. Terry's commitments with the England team were also taken into account. It is bizarre. Even if Chelsea reach the Champions League final there are two weeks in March, two in April and three in May when there are no Tuesday-to-Friday fixtures.
"The FA board expected the trial to be concluded prior to the European Championship," the statement from FA headquarters read. So did Capello, the Ferdinands and everyone at QPR. As Mark Hughes says: "I think everybody believes it has been dragging on forever. From my point of view, and certainly Anton's, [we] would have preferred it to be done and dusted by now. I think everybody would."

That is definitely NOT collusion - the FA wanted the trial much earlier so that they could simply point to the court verdict (guilty or not) and say - "We don't need to do anything; British Justice has prevailed." No need to punish, as he'd have been punished by the courts, or if innocent, would say unfair to try him twice (despite the differing levels of proof; sweep that inconsistency under the carpet)

No, the courts and justice system have FORCED the FA to act! <laugh>

As I've siad elsewhere, if this was a member of the general public on a driving offence, they's be in court the following week AT THE LATEST It stinks of double standards.

I was going to write about how its understandable, but actually, since this is meant to be dealt with by Magistrates Court and the maximum levied fine is £2,500, then this is a complete farce. How the Chelsea Chief Executive was able to influence the timing of the case to the extent he did was just not right. If witnesses are needed, they should be subpoenaed to appear and massively fined for contempt if they don;t appear, not sucked up to by allowing them to appear effectively in their own free time.

Should he be found guilty, this gives Chelsea the advantage of having had their player throughout the season, whereas we had to lose Suarez halfway through the season.

press hoping everyone forgets terry and his actions and chesleas repsonse which btw is no better than ours bar having our example to go by on t-shirts... some of their lot wanted to wear them but they decided not to after seeing the press reaction at us..... in the end the high horsed guys spouting kkk at us look pretty low today
