can only ever be happy with a win, yes they have a massive pile of debt they used to buy some damn great players but if we dont go in believeing we are in with a shout what on earth are we doing here? Holty scored an amazing goal against them last year and Jacko ran them ragged in the first half we should have had a point, why should we be bum burping over a heavy defeat, those things will always happen every now and then in the PL ask Arsenal(8-2)! we must go in knowing we have 11 damn good proffesional players on the park and 7 damn good ones on the bench and a blinkin good Manager...no bring on the mancs lets have a go OTBC IHWT!!!!!!
I don't get this 'only ever happy with a win' stuff. It's Man United for goodness sake, one of the best teams in the world. Yeah, it's great if we win. But if we were to get a draw against them it would be fantastic and if we lose it could well be down to Man United playing absolutely brilliant football. My enjoyment of football goes beyond winning. Although I would be stupid if I didn't want my team to win every game.
understand what you say wonky but I only ever turn up thinking we will give it a good go, and yes I might be well satisfied that we played well against ManU and lost or drew , but can only ever be happy with a win, these may be fine lines of emotion but they exist, was I satisfied and did I enjoy last year about the way we took the game to them and nearly got a draw Yes!, was I happy they robbed us at the death...No! hopefully I have explained my feelings better
WTF ? Winning is everthing mate, no-one remembers a loser. First and foremost I want my team to WIN at all costs, if we do so by playing well so much the better
It's Manchester United, one of the best teams in the world. If we lose, we tried our best but they are a fantastic team and they may beat us with some great football. If we lose to a lower league team that's different, but it's Man United. A perfect example of enjoyment of football going beyond winning was shown mid-week. Admittedly I don't pay any real attention to international football anymore but Ibrahimovic absolutely tore apart England mid-week. To see a footballer do that to a team, despite my team losing, is unbelievable and a goal like what he scored just has to admired (although I still hold my reservations due to Hart's cock up).
Understandable, and I agree. The chance to draw was there and we were beaten by some great football from some of Britain's best - Scholes and Giggs. There's always room to improve. The Norwich defence did their best and were undone in the last minute.

That's completely different. Man United are a brilliant team. Ibrahimovic is a great player. Ipswich are crap. Different context. Still shows that football goes beyond winning.
But the original question was what would you be happy with. At the sound of the final whistle I wouldn't be "happy" at the time. I would feel even against Barcelona that if we had drawn, and even if Messi had missed five penalties, that we had been only one shot or header away from winning. I would be content because we hadn't lost. The next day I might be happy especially if all the other results had gone our way. When Iwatched City for all the years I never left the ground early because I believed we could and should win. I lie, I walked out early after we lost 0-1 to Brighton in the League Cup and the goal was scored by a player we let go and we were dire and I think I was still the last out of the ground, it must have been empty at the final whistle. But I might not be as pragmatic as some of you however I really believe we are could and probably should win each game. Norwich 1 Man Utd 0= Norwich 0 Man Utd 0= Norwich 0 Man Utd 1=
if we play brilliantly and lose in the last minute, like we did last season i will be heartbroken but proud of my team. there seem to be a few people on here who have no perspective to what they are watching. football is not the be-all and end-all. there are more important things in life
Of course there are far more important things in life than football, that's a no-brainer However the Op's question relates to what makes you happy re Norwich City. Therefore I stand by what I said and that is I'm only ever truly happy when we win, but will be more than pleased if we avoid defeat
That's not what the original post was about. It was a simple question of would you be happy? Those of us who put No are now being cast as something akin to only sing when we're winning which is completely offline. Our expectations are just different. And of course there are more serious things. But I will be sat at my son's house watching on ESPN expecting us to win, no matter what side is put out against us. And I support one club and one club only and don't give a tinker's cuss about any other. And I guarantee we all be on here within hours of the game debating from completely different perspectives.
Agree redruth .... and also I might add, while I always want England to win, my only real allegience is with Norwich City. If England lose I'm a little disappointed, If City lose I'm gutted
