I don't think it's a conspiracy but I do think that there's more too it than is being reported. It would be shockingly negligent for a failure to account for all of the purported dummy devices, given that there were so few. Perhaps this was a stunt or in-joke that was completely misjudged, went wrong, followed by an internal cover up that's slowly being exposed. No doubt there's egos and reputations being protected left, right and centre. Perhaps the security company involved will invoke Brian Hanrahan's logic in future: “I'm not allowed to say how many dummy devices were utilised, but I counted them all out and I counted them all back.”
I hope that United will be refunding the Bournemouth fans' travelling costs from yesterday too Rank incompetence - was LVG in charge of security??
