Don't like that, we are starting to get momentum and now have this break, really hope it doesn't throw us off for stoke away.
Good point. It benefits us to some degree. I also reckon Martin Kelly will be also available for selection.
Regarding Man Of The Match, I felt that Lucas and Suarez were excellent today. I only heard the game on the radio and haven't seen the highlights but form what i've heard, both of them were excellent.
Lets just hope no one gets injured on international duty. Last thing we want is Suarez or Agger or anyone really to go and pick up an injury.
Don't jinx it you fool. Now go touch wood, cross your fingers etc. On a seperate note, I have not been impressed with Henderson at all, so kept a close eye on him today and he was a lot better, if not brilliant, so good on the lad. I can't wait to see Gerrard and even Johnson (if he can knock Kelly out of the team) in this team.
As brilliant as Suarez is- he needed to come off- he was going to get himself carded he was so riled up by all the refs bad calls and his lack of scoring (despite being brilliant). We were already in control of the game and the last thing we needed was for Suarez to waste silly cards.
I have slagged Lucas off in the past, but he was man of the match for me today. Great to see Henderson have a good game at last. It was a really enjoyable match.
Great all round performance but Lucas edged it over Suarez for me, his positional play was superb, he doesn't get drawn to the ball when it's not needed and holds that position in front center of the back 4. I think the OP mentioned that he is not sure how he does it. It's positional sense the key area is in front of the 2 center backs. The full backs do their job and defend Enrique and Kelly are great at this and don't get caught forward. Carra and Agger are always protected against a play maker (Modric) or a late striker of the ball (Scholes). This means that they mark the 2 strikers and have little else to do.
He was up for matching Fowler by scoring in the first three games. I figured that's why he was pissed off. Ironic that Klasnic did it. Andy Townsend was giving it big licks that Suarez should've gone past the 'keeper, without mentioning against Sunderland he did just that and got brought down, (which brings me onto the red card at Chelsea today, when Ramires was heading away from goal.) Penalty missed last week so no wonder he chipped the 'keeper. Anyway, I wonder if the all-round performances today had anything to do with Kenny coming out to quash the early media rumblings that we're a...shock horror...one-man team.
My thoughts are putting it simply....what a difference a year makes. We're a completely different side to the one that played turgid rubbish at home under Hodgson. Lets forget about away because 9/10 times we lost. Its not perfect yet, but its so easy on the eye, and in Suarez we have a player that has people on the edge of their seats thinking ''How in the name of sweet Jesus did he do that?''. I was convinced that Kenny would improve things, but I didn't think he could improve things this quickly. Suarez,Downing and Henderson are going to bring flair and energy and pure brilliance, but none of this is possible without Adam and Lucas doing their thing in the centre of the park. These two have developed a real understanding. Its really impressive.
The new signings have really adjusted well. Hendo was struggling but he seemed a lot more confident today which is great to see. However, my only concern is still Andy Carroll. Why isn't he attacking the ball? People keep saying he isn't fully fit but how much time does he need? Has he not had the same amount of time to gain match fitness as the other players? The team looks a lot better when he's not starting - Kuyt and Suarez have intelligence and fantastic movement which compliments the 'Liverpool style of play'.
