Reading their forums and they seem relatively concerned and all saying it is must win, they don't care if it's scrappy etc. They are pissed off about the scheduling of our game being on Saturday after playing Barca Wednesday. Their team really shouldn't be that tired, they are professional athletes and players have come out time after time saying they prefer playing twice a week.

I can see Long having a lot of joy out of Demichellis exploiting his lack of pace. I don't have any idea how he is playing in such a talented squad. I am quite optimistic about this game and can see a draw happening if we press well and don't try to sit back and absorb pressure.

This is the key, if we can contain them for 60 minutes like the Sunderland game, then hit them in the last 30 minutes when they hopefully are tiring, then we might just sneak it. Though I agree with other posters we need to take the game to them, not sit back and defend deep.

If we put them in a container for sixty minutes, I'm bloody sure we'd win. <laugh>

Like a lot of our current top teams, with the possible exception of Chelsea, as good as they are going forward they're not that special at the back and if you take Kompany out of the equation, they're distinctly average.

If we sit back and try to hold out for 90 minutes we'll probably concede at least 2 or 3 and maybe more with the attacking talent they've got but if we give it a go and try to keep them on the back foot we might just nick something. The one thing we must do is try to not give possession away too easily. I watched our game from the weekend again the other night and was pleasantly surprised at how well we kept the ball for decent periods, even in the first half. Obviously, Man City are a different proposition but if we show them too much respect, we'll almost certainly pay the price!

    Coming up on Saturday
Any recommended places for a Guinness breakfast other than that social club dive near the ground?

For breakfast, there's a sainsburys and a tesco near the ground, only way your going to get a Guinness breakfast unless you bring it with you.

Pubs will probably open around 11am, plenty on anlaby road near the ground or in the city centre if you fancy holding out for a Guinness brunch instead.

You mean Brickies when you say "that dive"?

If you don't like it, go in Admiral of the Humber. It's just across the way from the train station. It's about 10-15 minutes from the ground.

If you're in Hull a bit earlier, try Prinny Ave. Better bars. Just a bit further away.

You'll be fine in any pubs. Weatherspoons pubs like Admiral of the Humber and three John Scotts will be open from eight am.

Pubs on Princes Ave will be open for breakfast too.

    Nice one.

It's good to hear people coming here, visiting Hull & enjoying themselves.

Admiral is pretty much the standard chain pub set up here in the UK. It does the trick when you want something to eat, watch the match & drink.
