I got a well good idea - let's put a European place in it" Last four seasons winners - Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Man City. This seasons winner will be one of those four. The Cup has basically followed the PL into thick as mince territory and formed its own exclusive club, so thanks to whichever brainless twat decided to give Europe as a prize, the FA Cup is ALSO now completely off the table for all but 6 or 7 clubs. Football is ****ed. It'll die within 10 years at this rate.
Do you judge a manager when pitted against a worse team or when pitted against a better team? So do we judge Brucie on how we played against Bournemouth or how we play(ed) against Citeh?
It's worse for us because Newcastle have had that sniff of success years ago and we're one of the 4 or 5 teams who are desperate to reattain those glory years. Everton and Leeds spring to mind in that category. We aren't happy with being a midtable prem side, we want to be something more so we have very little joy in having a "decent" season in 13th or 14th. So, we need a takeover to survive tbh. I have enjoyed this season a lot, but that's mostly because I've been playing a role of a Bruce acolyte and have really enjoyed when we get surprise wins and people on here have to chew on a bit of humble pie. But I agree with the sentiment that the club right now is a gaping black hole of ****e.
A club like us, we judge the games we are supposed to win and write these games off. It's depressing but that is reality for teams like us, midtable sides aren't supposed to win these matches. In modern day football the expectation is to roll over and let them carry on.
Dubravka has had the most touches of any of our players in this game...thet tells you all you need to know. We have absolutely no quality in depth in our squad. Who is out best striker at the club currently? You have Muto, Joelinton, Gayle and Carroll at the club...i can't honestly ****ing answer that question. Without checking they must have 5 goals between them all season. Its the same throughout the team, Miggy and ASM are by far our standout players. How the hell can you threaten to drop players if they don't put a shift in when they know the ****e that will come in to replace them?
