I am interested to see how Villa get on. They have replaced a journeyman manager in Bruce with a forward thinking younger coach. I am adamant that this is exactly what we should have done. In fact I’m actually a bit jealous that they appointed dean smith. He has already turned them into a more free flowing team
It is a real dilemma watching poor football from your own team, but I’ve felt for a long time that fans booing etc during and at the end of a match only contribute to a decrease in confidence especially to younger less seasoned players. Should the performance be so poor then a total but quiet walkout with 15 min to go, stand by stand, will inform plenty about things to those who ‘run’ the club. This way we’re saying, ‘we’ve paid and we’re not content with the product that you, Mr Gao et al are offering’. On the tv front Sky and BT will make much of that, the sponsors will get concerned and so gradually the pressure builds for substantive change. Simply sacking MH is not the answer as has been said, the board have failed us, him and the squad. They need to fall on their sword or demonstrate they have any commitment to this club. Quickly!
What is becoming increasingly clear is that, when we don’t have the ball, we have a midfield and defence that are being set up as two banks of four, that are not working together. I pointed, out during the first half, how City were getting between the two “banks of four” and outnumbering the back line 5>4. This was also highlighted on MOTD2. It’s not rocket science to realise that ANY team, let alone one as good as City, will drag our defence out of shape and create gaps if we allow the back four to be outnumbered. Do we actually have a defensive coach? The way we are playing would suggest that we don’t. Why, as happened so often yesterday, when the ball is being processed down the flanks, and the midfield has been bypassed, are the midfield players still maintaining a straight line across the pitch, rather than one of the central midfielders dropping between the CBs to cover the inevitable gaps that come as a direct result of the defence being shifted one way or the other?
Don't you just love the OWS? My favourite piece of gallows humour is the inclusion of the 90 in 90 piece. 90 seconds of inept defending and our poor golalie picking the ball out is not conducive to happy Monday viewing!
We can change the manager but that won't cure the underlying problem of the shambles that is the people mismanaging the football side of the club. Ive posted it before but there needs a root and branch shake up from the football directors down to the Academy coaches.
Perhaps you would like to hand in a petition from not 606 asking, no demanding, the resignation of the whole board..... Edit.......and the manager.........??
You don’t have to say anything at all after an accident - the insurance companies will sort out liability issues, that’s what they’re for. All that matters is that no one’s hurt. Glad you’re okay.
Its ridiculous to think 3-4 seasons ago there were articles saying how progressive and well run we were. Plaudits about our academy as well. They have all gone south at an alarming rate. When was the last time we really developed a regular first teamer. Lallana I reckon.
You have to say Shaw, although he went quickly. Then Lallana. Can’t think who before that though, back to Theo, maybe?
