I have a very strong suspicion that if the malaise isn’t sorted out by a complete top-down restructuring sometime soon, we will not only go down but do a Sunderland and end up in League One again.
Expected to lose, but not as badly as that....rather hoped we'd be 0-0 for some time before succumbing. Reading through previous comments, I agree we shouldn't have sacked Puel….he probably wasn't the final answer, but I think we'd have done better under his watch than under Pellegrino and Hughes. We'd just have to avoid press conferences....incidentally he hasn't improved in that respect. No, we don't want to drop to the Championship....the idea that you can magically strengthen and get better down there is flawed. We were down there for a few poor seasons if I remember and look at Swansea, Wigan and Aston Villa....not exactly storming it. Better to cling on and hope for better times. I don't agree that all our players are dross...most could be ok in better sides....they just have the misfortune to be all playing together under a less than inspiring manager. And I hope Tom is better soon
Ouch! Always tricky that situation but I suppose you have to be ready for things like that. Definitely not what you want to happen after an experience like the match!
Anyone have a number for a Cortese, N? Remember how he said that he would be able to bring in a new owner should the need arise? Well Nicola, your time is now.
Crash? ****ing hell mate hope you're okay! Whereabouts was that? Drove past a couple of nasty ones on the way out.
While I like the idea of that I'm pretty sure it will get fobbed off as it's easy to do so for him. Need something public imo. The way to do this would be to tie them together, draft something together and get as many fans as possible to put their name to it and then release it when it doesn't get a response.
I’ve seen a lad come off his moped before in a crash quite similar , he went flying, blood coming out his head like a river ! Can still picture it now, I’d never seen anything like it.
****ing hell mate I'm pretty sure I drove past you, saw the back end of the car you must have hit. Glad to hear you're okay though mate.
They tried to get me to admit I was at fault for the accident there and then. I may be a Saints fan but I'm not THAT thick.
Agree with all this, but if the dross comment is in reference to my mediocre description I would like to take up that point. I also don't believe they are dross. There are some pretty OK Premier League players. Our CB conundrum sums up Hughes's seletion problem. We all love Maya, but he has his faults. On Stephens the jury seems to be permanently out, but I recall some excellent mature performances - the league cup second leg at Anfield stands out. Hoedt has never quite done it. My Wolves supporting mate described our new Danish lad as "****ing useless" and I note he hasn't played since that game. My mate may have a direct line to Sparky. So we have 4 players all of whom are, at best, average, vying for two places. It is difficult to see many positions on the pitch where it is filled by a definite cert. Ings may be an exception, but only because our strikers have even forgotten what a barn door looks like.
For a moment I thought you were going to suggest some Bonfire Night related solution to the Reed-Krueger problem!
I think they will argue that if you left enough space then you would have stopped in time. I would be very surprised if it ends up being anything other than your fault. Still, the main thing is you walked away from it in one piece
Of course not - that would suggest some sort of proactivity from both our Board in tandem with some random Chinese person, who's probably unaware he even owns us.
Well this season isn't going great is it. Actually looking at our squad and whole management structure maybe we are over achieving with 7 points and should really be celebrating.
