Excellent result and excelling in our weakest area to do it. Just to emphasise a clean sheet against a side who have scored 5 in three home games on the bounce before today. Could have been more for us too. Despite not having a win yet we look far better than I expected so far this season.
Boom. The least they deserved. Better team second half. Good subs at the right time. I think all the big three decisions were wrong. Penalty to Southampton. Livramento lucky not to be sent off and Man City's disallowed goal. The two VAR decisions were ponderous and a farce.
****ing great result, well done to those lads out there. Pep will have Moss in early tomorrow for extra training.
So ****ing proud of the lads, a 50/50 decision goes our way and we win that match. I was certainly not watching a bottom half team from us today.
This was one of the keys to our success under koeman - stopping the opponents even getting shots in the first place to do that against city who have some of the best playmakers in the world is incredible
Pen in real time, but not sure in the slo-mo. Think the ball was just out of Armstrong’s control. Their goal was a clear yard offside. Tino lucky not to get red.
A draw is a good result away. I still think we dropped points v Man U, but clearly a point gained here that wasn’t expected. I wouldn’t have given the penalty Armstrong slid to the ball and was on the ground. They did well to get a result after that though as it was initially given and I will say I’m not convinced he should have been able to overturn once he gave it
Not just the result today. Performance was fantastic. Just need Everton win and Ings hamstring and we climb another place
Before the season started, I thought the first five games would produce 0 points. Drawing with Newcastle was the best result we could expect. 3 draws against Manure, Spam and Citeh are much more than I hoped for.
Tremendous result. Absolutely stunning. They only had one shot on target the whole game, which is testament to how well we did. That has to be a penalty - mainly because he's given it on field. But hey, we're used to that kind of nonsense I guess. We really could have walked away with all three (again). But let's not be greedy - every single one of us would have taken that result pre-game, and the performance to go with it. Just a word for Redmond - yes, he frustrated at points, but he also threatened, and he worked tirelessly in defence too. That's why I suspect Ralph is playing him right now ahead of Tella. I'm expecting to see more of Tella in the 'easier' games. Brilliant. Hats off to the team, and hats off to Ralph for this one.
