The Tigers have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup Quarter-Final against Manchester City. Andrew Robertson returns to the squad after serving a one-match ban, while Mohamed Diame is also fit to feature at the Etihad Stadium after concerns over a possible dead leg suffered during Friday night’s defeat to Derby County eased. Robert Snodgrass, who was an unused substitute against the Rams, is set to play his first senior minutes since August 2014 after recovering from a serious knee injury, although it remains to be seen whether the midfielder will be thrown in from the start or emerge from the bench. Michael Dawson (hamstring), David Meyler (knee) and Adama Diomande (groin) miss out. Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is a doubt to face the Tigers with a heel injury picked up during Saturday’s win against Southampton while Joe Hart (hamstring), Vincent Kompany (calf), Pablo Zabaleta (knee) and Eliaquim Mangala (knock) are all likely to be sidelined. Samir Nasri could make a return from a hamstring problem. Read more at http://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/...ury-concerns-2828578.aspx#0rcgOM5WVbRUVy8c.99
Good omen ahead of Tuesday night's trip to the Etihad... please log in to view this image Trips to the blue half of Manchester have often ended in disappointment for the Tigers, but if supporters are looking for a good omen ahead of Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup Quarter-Final at the Etihad Stadium then read on. The Tigers have just one victory from 12 attempts at Manchester City, but that solitary success came in cup competition and helped them on their way to a semi-final in the process. Long before Steve Bruce set about rewriting our cup history with the memorable journey to the FA Cup Final two seasons ago and this year’s record-breaking League Cup run, the class of 1929/30 were the Club’s standard-bearers in cup competition. Their run to the FA Cup semi-final was the nearest any Tigers side had come to major silverware, and remained so until Bruce’s boys went a step closer in 2014. That run of 85 years ago included a fifth round visit to first division Manchester City, and despite being the underdogs, it was the second division Tigers that came out on top. Billy Taylor and Bertie ‘Paddy’ Mills were the goal-scoring heroes as Bill McCracken’s side won 2-1 at Maine Road in front of a crowd of more than 61,500. No doubt the current crop of Tigers would take a similar result at the Etihad on Tuesday. Hull City: Gibson, Goldsmith, Howieson, Walsh, Childs, Gowdy, Taylor, Alexander, Mills, Starling, Duncan. Us & the Scousers ? It was good to get a football related post out of him even though it's proved him to be a clueless ****. On the bright side, at least his spelling & grammar was spot on.
It was us and the Scoucers. And please don't stir it again, I'm trying to get everyone to play nicely...
I'm currently studying at the University of Manchester, does anybody know if its possible to buy tickets on the gate?
Didnt know where to stick this article, here'll have to do. Brilliant article from Martin Samuel about unearthed talent in the lower leagues. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...exotic-story-s-Northern-Ireland-s-choice.html
Good find Chazz, some wise words. Parts (most) of this along with the agent fees on tuther thread are some of the reasons why football is turning to ****e at a rapid rate.
Following on from that Ben, Scunny got stuffed by the Posh on Satdee. Work mate said Peterborough have signed another ****ing gem up front!! Washington, scored a hat trick, signed from lower leagues.
BBC sport says 6 before Saturday. I dunno only going on what my mate told me. Looking at Posh's squad they have 8 forwards on their books, now i know that makes Sterling cry but Washington has 9, Angol 7, Maddison 6, Coulibaly 5, Taylor 5. Maybe they rotate, maybe having a lot of forwards vying for 2 places and it creates a hothouse effect. Whatever, they certainly produce some. Coulibaly was signed by Spurs after winning the Golden boot at the U17's World Cup. They might all fail who knows...
