Should never happen in this day and age, as the blatant dive and play acting by Costa to get a man sent off in the Chelski v Arse game last week end.

The only reason they had a first leg lead at all was because their offside goal was not dis-allowed and Man City were denied two clear penalties.

He's getting very tedious, no doubt starting to worry about his job after two pretty poor seasons.

It was. The linesman needs sacking. Utterly un-acceptable in such a big game.

Factor in the big offside error for the Stoke goal the night before it has not been a good week for the linesman.

Time to get out the firing squad Mr Riley.

As for the game the BEST team won and John Stones looks more like a 40p player than £40m atm.<whistle> <laugh>

It doesn't help that Everton are playing Stones at right back? He's probably the best centre half they have. Martinez must have been to same school as Bruce regarding player selection and positioning.

Agreed on the Stones position as IMO Coleman should have started at full back. Everton got what they deserved in the end.

However, the match officials are getting more big decisions wrong atm and it needs to change.

Also happened from what I understand when City played Manure in 1949 and lost 1-0 at Fer Park in the cup.

I believe you're right, although I think it may have been over a disputed throw-in which City didn't get and Manure scored from the move that should have been halted by the linesman/ref, but ended in them scoring. Then again, I may be recalling another big match were City were blatantly robbed.

Possibly - it may have been their winner, but I really doubt it somehow ! I don't remember hitch-hiking back to Leeds being pissed off because we had unjustly lost that game.

Your memory's playing tricks with you TC - City throw in best stand side, ball grabbed by the little ginger bastard Conroy, throw in taken with not a peep from the ref or lino, the rest is history ............ no sour grapes, it was 100% a City throw, I was in the corner between sth & west stand ready for exit left down North Road.

Thank's for confirming. You're right, memory is failing. Got to BP late (hitched from Leeds) and we just managed to squeeze in the upper left corner(NW) at the very back of the terrace behind the N stand goal. Visibility for me was very bad ( vain bastard I was, I purposely left my specs back in Leeds). I didn't even get a clear spotting of Waggy's goals. You must have had a great view of all the goals.
