I agree with all these points.

The fact that the PL are reviewing the deals to ensure they are fair value is perfectly fine. The word fair makes it right. If they blocked any deals which were fair then a legal challenge would come. That would be fixing.

Man City are basically wanting to do exactly that. Install deals which where significantly higher than market value.

They claim they have lost deals. How? The deals provided they were fair would go through.

I still don’t think Man City have a legal challenge here.

The 115 charges needs to be fully investigated and punishment dealt.

The PSR rules need looked at. They are clearly wrong mind. If owners want to put their own money in they should be allowed to.

Why is it fair ? Because they slap the word fair on it? It's unfair that's the truth and that's why it's going to be proven illegal.

There is no doubt in my mind that Man City will win this case and the vast numbers of fans squealing about rules that shouldn't exist will still fall to figure this out afterwards.

Fair market value...ridiculous... anything revenue based is rigging the sport.

If they want fair then it's every club has the same cap on spend or no cap at all.. that's fair .. plain and simple... that's a competition.

The actual sponsor has to explain themselves to the PL, which is absurd

It's nonsense and Man City will win the case easily. Afterwards the morons will pretend brown envelopes were involved. Essentially they just dont like other clubs having more money than them and that's where it starts and ends.

I'm really torn on this whole legal action, it could mean big things for us, but i want city took to the cleaners for the 115 charges..........i never forgave Keith Curle for getting Tino sent off.

I like the fact man city have proven the so called big clubs are just the same as any other when push comes to shove....££££ made them successful nothing else.. even Newcastle were successful before money ruined the game.

Not a bad thing. It would probably have then caught the Man City sponsorship by Etihad where it appears that the owner of City transferred the money to Etihad Airlines and they then transferred it to City.

There are emails from City Commercial department to Etihad asking for payment of the sponsorship and immediate emails from Etihad to City boss telling them they cannot pay it until he transfers the money to them.

I think its completely valid for PL to confirm fair market value for associated party transactions including sponsorship. An over the top sponsorship artificially inflates the value of the club and risks sustainability in the event of a sale/buyout.

Clubs wouldn't need to try and inflate the value of sponsorship deals if owners were allowed to put in an unlimited amount of money. As long as these are classed as donations and not loans and the owners are obliged provide bonds to cover the outstanding player salary costs, in the event of a sale, it would have no effect on sustainability, and allow wealthy owners to chase success.

Better to try and get PSR rules dropped/changed than trying to fight the sponsorship deal value.

Ideally the entire thing needs scrapping or if they're going to paint something as 'fair' it has to be.... it's a nonsense. It's very simple to set a limit for all or no cap at all. If they're worried about debts get owners to sign a waiver ... it's very simple.

Do you mean Fair market value for sponsorship? Why do you think its a nonsense to paint something as fair? It only applies to sponsorship deals between related parties. If its not between related parties then it can be whatever value can be negotiated with the sponsor. The fact that Newcastle (and Man City) are having to rely on sponsorships from related companies suggests that they are either a) trying to bend the rules or b) being lazy. They should be going out and finding other potential sponsors so that they can show PL what fair market value is.

Precisely my take on the whole thing - not difficult to achieve, and would make things fair, and protect the clubs... but the usual suspects won't like it, as they'll be challenged much more aggressively than currently.

    Heres how it is.

City want to play in the premier league but dont want any of the rules to apply to them.

They have denied any wrong doing in regards to the 115 charges, and have delayed and appeales it at every turn hence why its taken so long to get here.

Now its almost here (judgement day) city decide to sue the Premier league saying the ruless theyve been breaking for years are unlawful.

They say these rules have stopped them buliding the brand of citygroup.

Now..... 4 prem titles in a row. 6 out of 7 for pep alone i think.

    A treble

    And numerous cups

    suggest otherwise.

I hope if they do win his case then i hope the premier league call thier bluff. Id hope the rest of the prem teams vote them out of the league and they can join the abbi dabbi league and spend whatever they like and build the brand over there.

And you lot can join them too if you dont like it.

    Off you ****

If this is the case can’t we get 3 or 4 PiF owner companies all to bid a hundred million and the winning one bids £110m citing that other clubs bid £100m?

    Calm down dear.

Newcastle have done nothing wrong here, other than being a threat to the greedy and entitled clubs. We've broken no rules. We've distanced ourselves from the City thing.

Just let clubs with a bit of money spend it. That's all we ask. City want pelting for the 115 charges (that stick), and related party transactions should be "fair"... But let's make the rest of it fair too.

Whats fair about city sponsoring each individual seat in the stadium for a billion each?

Thast what will happen if thet get thier way, i mean theyve been doing that **** anyway for years, hence them being the 3rd richest club in football behind real madrid and utd for revenue. <laugh>

The above statement alone is not a joke either.

You and city and your state backed teams can **** off to the super league and play each other 28 times a season is hiw i see it.

****ing hell Sucky. Don’t be tarring us with their brush just because you’re **** scared of being pushed down the pecking order. It’s so transparent.

Youre massively over dramatising things as usual. We’ve got a section of our forum fan base here might be able to lend you some scuba gear to safely negotiate the pool of piss you’re stood in.

It’s not Liverpool’s turn to have money… might as well get used to it, or get a change of owner to one that doesn’t support terrorists and will invest more.

Would it not be easier for you to change from being a plastic Liverpool fan to being a plastic Man City fan?

I think your confusing our shirt sponsor with our owners mate.

And its hardly a over dramatic when a state backed club whove flouted the rules for over a decade whilst scooping up every trophy available start suing the lewgue they play in because they want to do whatever they please.

"The tyranny of the majority" should send shudders down the spine of every football fan in the world tbh

It tells you everything you need to know about citys owners and how they see things imo

Like i said before, you want to play prem football then you abide by its rules.

You dont fuking sue the league because youve more money than sense to avoid the inevitable punishment that youre about to receive.

Its ashame there actually no real city fans anywhere because id love to know how the old skool ones see this move. Its disgraceful tbh

Throw them out of english football and anyone who backs them too
