So in essence 103 of the 115 charges are for being arsey with the PL and UEFA and not being "helpful" rather than 115 made up sponsorships from 1 month old companies with 1 employee <whistle>

Listened to Stefan Borsten (sp?) on Talksport, cut through the media BS in about 10 minutes (which we’ve already done here). ATP rules are unlawful, the other wording (tyranny of the minority) aren’t likely separate and just aggressive terms to force a point, the likely result is that the ATP rules will be ripped up but that other controls will need to be introduced. This has nothing to do with PSR - it’s about the restrictions placed on aspirational clubs in favour of established elite. He (Stefan) talked about the kneecapping of Newcastle far more than City. This is clearly a Gulf action, not a City one.

One key issue is that sponsors themselves - not the club - have to explain why they put a value on something, which is utterly unique and doesn’t apply anywhere else in the world. City argue it has put sponsors off and cost money, and further argue that Tv money is/has flatlined; to get the same money as the previous deal the PL had to sell more matches and there’s nowhere left to go.

I look forward to Man City winning this one so a bit of freedom can head our way.
But I won’t get too excited just yet.

Perhaps, but I doubt they would have started the process if they weren't at least somewhat confident.

I still genuinely don’t think Man City win this. And therefore we won’t get a brucy bonus.

If anything I am convinced that that PL price that this is the very reason why the rules are where they are.

It isn’t anti competitive imo. It’s restrictive yes. But the mere fact that Man City have won the PL 6/7 seasons makes this a bit of a mockery.

Doesn't sound like our owners think Man City will win it either.

They’ve probably looked into it and received legal advice on the chances previously.

Ok. But you are wrong (in my opinion).

    1. There is nothing in the rules that says that clubs are not allowed to talk to each other about League matters outside meetings
    2. Presumably clubs have the right to request an EGM, although can't see anything in the rules
    3. For a vote for a rule change to carry it would have to have the support of 14 clubs so the top 6 can't push something through without another 8 being in agreement.

There is no legal requirement to keep a note of informal meetings or discussions under the PL rules or even under Competition Law.

How are they price fixing? The rule just says that sponsorship by associated parties must be reviewed for fair market value and approved by PL.
