The question is how much would they want if they were going to sell ? Who's to know whether they've flouted tge idea to various buyers but haven't had a call back at their asking price !
We would only have value if we reached the Premier League and then the owners would probably look at taking what they could out of the bonanza that would be had. They could sell while they have a chance but who would buy? As pointed out we don't really have any assets to sustain us at that level. Bernie & Flav were ahead of the game when they got us and cashed in at maximum premium to the first village idiot in the queue. You have to admire the cold-hearted business acumen of the pair whilst wishing they rot in hell...
l agree regarding the club assets offer little to perspective buyers. It is us the fans, which it’s the clubs greatest asset. I’m more peeved how they went about the whole process from the start. We all make mistakes but their lack of business acumen was in show from day one. After what this club has gone thru, l just hope Man City get their just desserts but l’m not holding my breath.
Apparently 17 of the other 19 current Premier league clubs have said that if they are found guilty, they want them to be relegated. You just know that the other 2 teams are Chelsea and Newcastle, or maybe Forest lol.
It’s interesting to see the media talking up (or down, depending which side of the fence your on) the impact on signing top players at Citeh. I guess it depends on your contract length and whether you’re just out for the money but I’m sure there will be some considerations by players looking from the outside. I wonder how closely authorities will be watching Newcastles spending now. Or will they just wait 20-years and give them a slap on the backside and send them off running back home to carry on as well.
Here in Oz, Craig Foster, former Socceroo captain and tv journalist, has stated, if proven to be found guilty, they should relegated from the PL. Let’s face it, it would seem it’s not a one off or a dozen but blatant rorting, so yes, they should be made an example of but l struggle to see the FA having the backbone to carry any such actions. Here in Oz, a National rugby league team and premiership winning team, Melbourne Storm were stripped of there titles over several years, having done much the same.
I assume most have seem the QPR documentary? Possible the pivotal moment in our history was when it appeared Briatore was selling to Amit and Mittal and suddenly up pops TF who pipped them to the post. Of course one cannot.know what might have been but it can't be any worse than what did and, quite possibly, better. As for City, my bet is a transfer embargo for maybe even one season and a fine that the owners could pay from whatever is down the back of their sofas.
