If all the other clubs can manage to organise matters then City should be able to. The FA can't let them off easily as it could result in clubs deliberately arranging matters so players are not available to cover up drug abuse.

As punishment I think all Manchester based clubs should be relegated two divisions and be stripped of all Prem. league titles. Just to send the right message, I am not biased or anything, honestly.

absolutely, in the news we hear about TUEs being granted left right and centre because our athletes have 'pre existing conditions'. That's proper bs, and its just a way to give our athletes an advantage. But we're in the west so that's fine, we don't like to 'cheat'.

the problem with saying it is just an admin error is that for an individual the same error leads to a doping violation & 3 strikes leads to a ban - well unless you appeal to CAS and win like Lizzie Deignan nee Armistead

The whereabouts notifications are a central plank of anti doping measures . Otherwise they just bugger off to train with Kenyan athletes well away from testing & comeback a world beater <whistle>

Yeah I get that mate, but there's a distinct difference between an individual athlete / player missing tests, and a football club failing to have a system robust enough to keep track of everyone on their books.

but i assume in effect the club are completing the whereabouts reports on behalf of the players therefore are acting as the player.
Have to say i'm not sure if football actually uses the normal system that Athletics , Swimming etc use or i'm sure we would have far more recreational drug results and would hear players whinging about having to notify their constant whereabouts

    This.

As much as it's a bit of a laugh to have a go at City, this is clearly imo an admin **** up and the punishment should be appropriate to that.

This is the same Man City that proudly boasted they test all of their players' chemical levels after every training session and game to prepare individually-tailored recovery drinks and nutritional plans

But the moment anti-doping wants to test them they suddenly don't even know what day they're supposed to come in on <laugh>

sure. when its a individual the individual gets punished. when a club systems "accidentally" break down the club should be heavily punished.

Yeah. They couldn't even remember to buy their star player a birthday cake, so obviously they need to sort their calendars out.

What's next, "yeah we fielded ineligible players three times in the competition but it's just admin"

You do know you have just had a player taking drugs on the banned list and your club did nothing about it?

Some young clerk forgetting to update someone's address or training regime pales into insignificance <ok>

He took a substance that wasn't on the banned list and our club made him unavailable for selection to set the highest standards <ok>

You really don't read anything about Liverpool do you <laugh>

It was on the banned list which is why it was pulled, the fact that some labs ignored it doesn't change that <ok>

Nope it wasn't on the banned list which is why UEFA distanced themselves as much as possible and didn't consider there to even be a charge to consider <ok>

We set the highest standards, City should follow by making those players unavailable for selection until the process is finished
