So as well as Karius and Lewis, why don't we go the whole hog and start Ritchie, Laecelles, Anderson, Fraser and Dummett?

Pope has been outstanding for pretty much all of the 28 games he's played this season, just cos a player gets suspended for one game and the stand in might play okay doesn't rule them out when they come back. And Lewis might need support, but let's keep that support well away from the first team.

Better to rest him....one game out in a game they face almost certain defeat is the perfect opportunity.

Nothing is forgone, who the feck expected Brentford to win at City?

I hate the idea of giving games away by resting players.

City are bang in form and Newcastle are an emotional mess. I think we will get a really good hiding in this game.

How does losing at Spurs and drawing to Forest equate to bang in form?

Because no one else needs dropping. Karius doesn’t need dropping as he didn’t do anything to warrant being dropped. Schar got a facial injury yesterday hence Lewis in as I’d rather see him in my line up than Lascelles

Pope doesn't need dropping cos he's been awesome, therefore Karius being ok yesterday is no danger to Pope getting picked.

Schar just got a bit of a black eye, put a mask on him if needs be.

He’s already dropped. He was dropped for being sent off. I’m sure EH in the past has said he won’t drop a player unless they play poorly. Well here we are

We haven't scored in the last 2 games so this means we won't score for the foreseeable apparently. And cos Man City won their last match against the team in second bottom they are apparently unstoppable.

I agree we are low on confidence but most of it - in my opinion, don’t want some getting their knickers in a twist, EH needs more than just this one formation and the one tactic.

And Pope hasn't played poorly, so he won't be dropped. Pope will play against City.

If we had had Wood we’d have won yesterday!

They've been getting worse at both ends progressively.. they're not going to just snap back into pre Christmas form.

    It's nearly March.

Man City are much better than newcastle in every area of the pitch and the toon players had their souls taken yesterday.

It's going to take a few scrappy wins to start building confidence and it won't come vs City mate.

Yes he will but he shouldn’t. He got sent off. That allows another player a chance. Said player takes chances. Said player therefore remains

Well bringing Wood on would have been better than the Ritchie and Anderson subs.

I live in the now and take games as they come along. I don't use us not scoring in the last 2 games as a viable reason to predict months and months of failure and despair.
