And on top of that they've got quite a few loaned out like; Santa Cruz, Bellamy, Caicedo, Gonzalez, etc... Ridiculous.

Back onto Caicedo though, has anyone heard the latest one him? I know he's been loaned to Sporting, Malaga and Levante since he joined City. I think Levante was his last one and he scored 14-15 goals that season?

The last i read was that Levante had an option on the loan to sign him... for £868,000. (€1mil) and theat they were planning on doing that and selling him striahgt away in the summer. I dont know if thats progressed or not though, with the Copa America stuff being on?

Sounds like a right bargain for a 22 year old who looks promising in my eyes.

    found this

"MANCHESTER CITY are weighing up whether to rip up the contracts of FIVE senior players just to get them off the wage bill.

Boss Roberto Mancini was told in Abu Dhabi last week that he needs to trim £1million a week off first-team squad salaries.

The Italian has decided the likes of Craig Bellamy, Wayne Bridge, Roque Santa Cruz, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Jo are not in his plans.

The five, all bought by Mark Hughes, are now worth a fraction of the £68m they cost. City do not want to loan out stars as they did last season with Bellamy, Bridge and Santa Cruz, and have done in the past with Jo, because other clubs expect City to pay most of the wages.

City would prefer to give them free transfers. Bridge, 30, and Santa Cruz, 29, would cost more than £18m in salaries.

Shaun Wright-Phillips, 29, has a year left of a £60,000-a-week deal, and Brazilian Jo is in a similar position on £55,000 a week. Bellamy, 31, spent last season with Cardiff."
the term ripping up obv. means paying them up and releasing them on a free .....cue fat mike (to be fair though none of them fit his remit)

looks like some seen the writing on the wall
"Manchester City youngster John Guidetti has turned down a new contract extension at the Premier League club and now looks set to leave at the end of the season for nothing."
