With respect, Leo, he could. A contract is a two-way agreement. The club were contracted too. (How are you, BTW ? Been working stupid hours recently - 110 mon-fri , so I'm a bit behind things. Only found out about Malky this morning )
Fair point but in this case it suited both parties for him to move on - unlike Malky Blimey - that's a lot of hours ! we're fine thanks - Mrs L is much much better and at the moment I have my near 90 year old father here - bit doddery on his pegs
Glad to hear it . All the best to Leonarta (great that she's much better) and your Dad. With regards to the contract thing, when one party wants out of it, is that not the same as when the club wants out of the contract and sacks the manager. We don't get managers screaming "Judas!" (maybe they do, but we don't hear it ) The Rodgers thing is like when chairmen say a manager's job is safe and then sack them the next day. It's dishonourable. And I don't believe for a second that Rodgers hadn't been tapped up. In both cases, chairmen and managers, if they think they may seek to end the contract imminently, they should keep their traps shut and avoid talking to the media. As Malky did. He wasn't giving it large, Watford 'Till I Die, before he left. Anyway, who do you fancy to take charge? I've seen Roy Keane's name mentioned (he's shorter odds than Kenny J ).
Please God, no! Seems like we've only just got rid of him in this household. Mrs GG (a Tractor Person as you know) couldn't wait to be shot of him. I don't see him as having any of the man management skills needed to bring on our youngsters.
Roy Keane will never join us, he needs a lot of money to assemble a squad. He would laugh at our budget
Been away so pretty late to the party. Will add my thoughts but I'm sure they have all been voiced. 1) Main emotion I felt when I saw the news in a tent in Kendal was disappointment. Disappointed that MM left but also disappointed that he left we 3 years or so on his contract and seemed to leave due to a lack of "ambition." 2) He's gone and a football fans' memory has to be short - I'm not going to call him Judas as I feel that he has done a good job. I don't think he should have left but actually good luck to him - I won't hold any grudges. 3) So who next? I said Clark from Hudds would be my best appointment - I would love that. However, I don't think he will leave for us. What I look for is a good sensible post. No Dennis Wise or Roy Keane. Someone who is proven at this level. Brian Laws? Not sure. But I don't want Shaun Dyche - not ready I don't think.
