Too early for me to tell yet, but I do think DJ had passed his sell by date when we failed to get promoted last season so I for one was happy to see a new manager.

As comparison we've only played 7 league games but the % goals against is slightly in favour of Malky at the moment, with 45.7% of all goals scored in the league (for and against) were in the back of our net last season. This season so far its only 41.2%.

So there's not much in it either way.

    Im delighted to have Malky.

I think we would have gone up last year if wed sacked Jones in November and put Burton in charge. How he messed up last year I dont know.

A lot of the loan players didn't live up to the hype. Oli the Ninja and JET spring to mind, plus a few of them were carrying injuries.

Got to say guys think you have a good one now. he will move you forward in the right way. I firmly believe if he had last years squad you would have been promoted. Hope you manage to keep hold of him> hope i am proved wrong and he fails miserably, but i get the feeling he is the real deal.

Together Everyone Achieves More and the TEAM ethic is certainly something that shows this season. I believe that if the boys played for each other last season then we would have gone up automatically. I have to say that we don't have the same standard of player/skill that was evident last season but we certainly make up for that in blood, sweat & tears. Simply for the way that he has the team pulling in the same direction; I believe that Malky seems to have been the right choice. I was a fan of DJ but all good things come to an end. Here's to a hard fought season and one with the sight of reward at the end of it. You cannot get momentum from standing still and sometimes it's one step backwards to accelerate before going three steps forward.

Very good summary oldsparkey - sums things up nicely. I definitely agree that we will struggle toput teams away, as we haven't got that spark, or that level of clinical finishing that is needed any more. Ross McCormack any body? Also, Conway - great at putting the croses over from all sorts of angles, but he's never going to get past a man. There were times against Leicester and Donny when we were crying out for some real width and pace in attack.

The players we have now give the impression they would run through a brick wall for MM and the team..........I didn't have the same impression last season especially from some of our "stars" (Bellamy, and perhaps Chopra excluded <ok>)

Anyone of us fans if lucky enough to pull on the blue shirt of Cardiff City would run our guts out and try our very best,,,,,,,,,,,,we might not be any good, but we would certainly give it our best shot, which wasn't the impression I got from some of the players last season...........sometimes IMO a few players were just going through the motions and didn't care enough............in a tight league like the championship, you cannot afford to carry passengers, something which seemed to happen to often last season.

OK maybe some of our present players may not be as gifted as last seasons squad, but it looks like they are ready to give their very best in every game, and we can't ask for more than that <ok>

Solid sentiments Proph, and I wouldn't argue with any of that. At the risk of inviting a barrage of abuse, I'd agree that last year the work rate may not have been there from certain big name players, and it's nice to see MM building a team.

Scott - No barrage of abuse mate as it is a widely held belief by many of us...

It helps that you have put it in an honest way and not "had a dig" like some would. <ok>

To be fair, we weren't too far off last year and players like Bothroyd and Oli just went off the boil at the wrong time. Chops tried hard but was obviously feeling "unloved" after his injury and Bellamy's arrival. he always was a confidence player and being relegated to the bench didn't do him any good..

Still, all history now and we move onwards (and hopefully upwards) with Malky and our new team, with a new ethic and ethos <cheers>

Including carling games we seem to have lost just once from 10 games.

The downfall with DJ was periods where we hardly won a game but somehow managed to win a vital game when it looked like curtains if he lost it.

However the way we are playing right now we do not seem as easy to beat as people expected.
