‘I'm lucky I don’t send text messages.’ Is that because he can't work the phone or because he can't write?
Quite a lot of truth in the later, I believe. so...good on Arry so being so successful in his chosen field
Frankly, I am rather more concerned about the Jihadist lunatics than some tasteless comment made by a moderately successful ex-manager of a football team. Mckay would have texted in jest and I doubt it is his true belief. We have all made poor taste jokes and comments in the past. It does not mean we believe what we may have said, do we think all blondes are dumb for instance, all Scots alcoholics, all Jews mean? Of course not. The world has gone PC mad. I like watching South Park, does that mean I dislike Jews, or am racist, because the program is full of such comments. The invasion of Mckays privacy and publicising of his private correspondence is also of more concern. Clearly, as is usual, the more money one has to throw at a litigation lawyer, the more chance one has to bully the Court into obtaining the justice the wealthy want. Hence the apparent Court Orders to raid people's premises. Still, we can rest assured that if the papers get it wrong, and wreck a few careers/lives, there will be a 1cm apology at the bottom of page 21 in eighteen months time.
Still, whatever the outcome for Malky it seems to have royally f*cked Palace up. Their first choice was rejected after Cardiff revealed all, now their second choice, Tim Sherwood, has turned them down and with Hoddle happy at Loftus Road they'll be scouring the leftovers...
Ok it wasn't nice what was texted but it should hardly bar him from working. No worse than what I and mates would text each other.
Forget judging the guy and trying to disseminate whether what he said was banter, and whether that excuses it. In my mind, the key aspect here is that what was said is down in black and white. I'm sure that others have privately said much worse, but it's not been recorded in any way. So is his problem actually, the fact that he has been caught with these words?
Apparently the problem for both of them was that they were using company phones which enabled Tan to get a court order to view all use. It was said there are very few of these orders granted each year so there must be some really serious stuff going down. I think the main thrust of the investigation relates to payments to individuals who were not involved in transfers and other financial irregularities. The racist comments are a bit of a sideshow in comparison to other alleged misdemeanors...
Ain't that the truth. And as Palace go down their list of possibles, will any decent, self-respecting prospective manager want to be seen as fifth or sixth choice - or worse
I normally wouldn't wish ill on a fellow PL team but hey, this could very well mean that there are now only two places left for relegation and Stoke and West Ham are doing their best to hold down those spots. Life in the PL really is a piece of puss!
Good rant!! I suspect there are rather more career ending jokes in our joke threads than on MM's phone. Perhaps they will make a movie about the whole sorry episode called, "The Vengeance of Tan". It is absolutely true about buying the justice you want though of course there are high profile celebs who have not been able to do that and done their time.
