I don't think he needs your forgiveness or worries about having it. Yesterday was the time we would have played hard to win, last home game and all that, next Saturday will be a day of youthful exuberance, where we give the youngsters a bit of glory, and bask in a joint party atmosphere at Hull as they join us in promotion. In reality, we will try our best to win, as we always do, regardless of whether that helps you or not, it's the Cardiff way. Of course, if Malky has been reading Watford boards over the months then you could be in trouble, if he is in a vengeful mood
In a light, holiday mood I guess they would be happy with a draw .... which would suit us if we beat Leeds , as we should....
Funnily enough I can see both Watford and Hull losing - or not funnily enough I think we may underestimate Leeds and their desire to redress that 6-1
I have been able to watch the last two Watford games and the Barnsley one yesterday. I think the power of my laptop is being felt on the pitch. Watching Steve Bruce during the game and listening to him on the FL show, it seemed as if he will have a job to lift himself let alone his team.
Hopefully we won't have to suffer like those Brentford fans did! I hope we can get the win ourselves and if Hull do it so then fair enough. Hate to see Cardiff win and us not do the job as everyone would then be downbeat for the play-offs.
He did seem shocked and bewildered didn't he? Serves the traitorous git right if they do blow it Not that I have held a grudge since 1987 or anything
Did you see that gimp Colin on the FL show last night? - "I fancy Leeds playing on that terrible pitch", seems he does his research well!
Little wonder they got rid of him - surely as a manager he should be up to date on such things? Or is he in the same mould as Hollowhead - didn't know we had a pitch until he saw it or read about it in a programme?
I hate to say this, and believe me i know how it feels to bugger it up at the final hurlde (gosh knows we have done it enough ourselves) - but I think you need to start preparing for the playoffs sorry guys. There is zero pressure on us (which is when we are at our best) and the weight of the world on you (which is enough pressure to dislodge anybody). The psychological disadvantage of having 'thrown away' such a seemingly unasailable position will make it very difficult for you. Anything can happen in football, and I have all sympathy with you if it does go belly up, but I think you may need to be leeds fans next week
Nail on the head Mark - lots of talk about Cardiff doing this that or the other but it will mean bugger all if we do not win our own game. What really worries me is that the players will be very very nervous. Hopefully they can deal with that though.
i did wonder...thanks for the positive vibe you're a star, thanks ellandback, can you tell the team please? agreed. the last few weeks the pressure has been off...Hull have been uncatchable ..... almost. Now...it's so huge..either team could panic and blow it. Oh god! i'm not going to sleep this week...i already feel sick lol
Get a grip H, you don't want to be sick in that nice company car of yours, it might put a few people off. Let's face it we had two massive games against Hull and Leicester and came through them ok without the players looking nervous. It will be a full house Saturday and what we don't want is the crowd transmitting fear to the team.
you're right...but i could hardly watch the last 20 minutes on Friday...i did that...peering through fingers thing when i wasn't hiding behind my mate lol...it's worse than Dr Who!
Since Saturday evening I've been trying hard, to just think about our game, every time I start thing of Hull/Cardiff I give myself a slap and do something else-getting lots of little odd jobs done! Hard as it may seem we just have to concentrate on our result. If we can win then we go in to the playoffs with a bit of confidence & form. We have had a great season & it we be a shame if we forget that should the playoffs be our fate. I'm going to try & ignore the 'Elephant in Humberside' until our game is over. I know that will be impossible since every phone at the Vic will be red hot, but I'll try...just need to stay calm..& breathe... COYH WFC63
Hi guys, It has been a long struggle with you and Hull and you both deserve to go up but only one team can get auto now. I do have sympathy for Hull should they lose second spot on the last game but our team will go there and try to win as I expect Leeds to do the same to make this as fair as possible. We will celebrate with the final winner and wish the play off team the very best should they have to go through that way. jck
i'm sure all four teams will be putting the effort in...but i'm afraid any sympathy i have for Hull will be slightly overshadowed by the joy i have for my wonderful Golden Boys, should we manage to find a miracle.
I would share that opinion about the 6-1 if Colin was still manager, but as McDermott is, I think (if truth be told, I hope) it won't be that big an issue.
