Well I like the idea sparkey, now all we have to do is convince Craig. I think he might go for it, he knows it makes sense.
He did say he would play for nothing, but with big bonuses should we be promoted, therefore a cash offer for him may well sound like good business sense, although i wouldnt like to see a bidding war for Bellers as there are a few EWPL clubs sniffing around, however the SPL clubs no matter how big they are appear to be acting like an episode of Shameless (Skint)
He won't go to West Ham. Too far to go and see his family. If he goes to celtic they've agreed he can stay at home as there are flights often from cardiff to glasgow. Or he'll be at city next season.
I assume that stands for England Wales Premier League, haha that should get the anti-Welsh fans out in droves
seems Stoke are now in the frame too http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3676889/Stoke-line-up-Craig-Bellamy-swoop.html
Why doesn't somebody just go round his house, knock on the door and ask him what the situation is? he won't tell you outright but what he does say and how he says it will give us a big clue. Of course I'd do it my self but unfortunately I'm stuck here in Baku (with the 36 C Temperature and the stiletto heel wearing beautiful girls and the beach), so I can't but someone could.
Snaggs - good job you didn't put a comma after the "wearing" or I'd really be worried about you. As far as popping around to Beller's house is concerned, I think I'll avoid that if you don't mind. I'm afraid I may bump into one of his neighbours using Burton, Wilko and Armstrong to do some gardening for him.
Any chance of DJ moving to the south coast? He may look to join the Riddler in Plymouth. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14017484.stm
Odds for Bellamy returning to Cardiff dropped from 4/1 to 7/4 overnight. Skybet know something everyone else doesn't? If, for argument sake, we were to get Bellars again, here are the two scenarios for the costs: 1. Man City tear up his contract. Cardiff take up new contract - £80,000 p/w would cost 4.16m for a full 52 weeks. Surely CB won't want to lose money Man City (+?) would otherwise be paying him and this sum would be far too steep far us. So the second scenario is much more likely... 2. Man City pay 20% of his wages. We pay the rest for 44 weeks of the year (with an aim to sign CB at reduced wages next year). 44 weeks at £60,000 would come to £2.64m. So the question is - Is Craig Bellamy (about to turn 32 this season) worth 'signing', all in with wages, for £2.64m???
For sure!!! Who else could you pick up with anywhere near that quality for that price? I don't see him playing anywhere else for the rest of his career...admittedly I'm kinda optimistic after the run of good news stories recently, but Stoke...honestly? Can't see that or the 'ammers being a possibility or else he'd have found somewhere last summer, but he didn't, he came to us and that was unbelievable until it actually happened, so why not believe again now??? C'Mon Craig...........................you know it makes sense!!!
So the question is - Is Craig Bellamy (about to turn 32 this season) worth 'signing', all in with wages, for £2.64m??? Every penny.
Just to be devil's advocate though. This is a crap load for essentially one season. But if CCFC could agree on an option for the following year on dramatically reduced wages then maybe it would be more attractive. Depends on the Malaysians long and short term intentions. CB would be great for marketing us abroad. But this would suggest an aggressive masterplan with a fast push to the Prem a la last season. Truth is, MM hasn't yet shown his cards with his signings yet as freebies are always the first players to move. I've said it before and I think it's worth repeating. If CB is adamant he wants to come back to us, he'll do well to re-iterate publicly that it's Man City or Cardiff City. The longer into the summer the issue goes unresolved, the more it suits us. Patience is definitely the name on this game... Plus the rumour alone probably helps us attract more players too!
Oh and I can't stand Joe Ledley anymore... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11781_7021120,00.html Not only did he persuade Matthews away from us. Now he's at it again.
Why doesn't Ledley just 'ck-off!!!???!!! Not that Bellers is likely to get swayed by anything he says though...
To be fair, Ledley is just voicing his opinion. Mathews was a completely different scenario and like you say Ghost, I don't think Bellamy would be swayed by flattery. Ledley's probably thinking "well if he can fly home every week, so can I"
Someone should tell Ledley that Ridsdale is gone & he can let the bitterness subside a bit . MacKay will get his team formed without Bellamy . When Bellamy's done his existing contract " Mac " will listen to what Craig has to say about throwing in with Cardiff .
Bellers might come cheap if the Malasians agree to fund his Ivory Coast club!! And good publicity for them all over the world too!
We haven't speant anything on transfers and I don't expect our new signings to command excessive wages. Unless Malckay has an expensive player or two up his sleeve there could be spare cash to 'do a deal'. I suppose it depends on Goodwillie and the purported £2M. On the flip side, if Craig is keen to come back, MM could be hanging on for him to make the first move. Guess, double guess, tripple guess, then toss a coin. Fun isn't it.
