Obviously we would like him to declare undying love, but there is also the matter of interpretation. He said that he wants to play at a big club, but we are 2nd in the league, so he will see where we are at the end of the season (being in the CL being a factor). Sky have the headline saying he says he will leave if we don't make the CL. The former gives hope; Sky's interpretation makes it a threat. You could say that both interpretations are correct, but why not take the happier idea.....he was definitely leaving, but now might not. Morgan has an alter ego...he rabbits more in French.

Nothing in there surprises me at all. I think we all know Morgan will leave if we don't finish in the top 4. He may leave even if we do but we'd have a good chance of keeping him for another season if we did qualify.

I think he's being refreshingly honest.

An honesty which is his trademark. He is a professional footballer. He is no different any other professional; we all want to finish our careers with few regrets. If he shuffles along in a mid-table team he will live to regret it. It's up to SFC not to be such a team. He is already in my top 10 favourite Saints of all time (can feel a slow newsday thread coming on!). Leaving for good reasons won't dislodge him from that.

I think its pretty simple to understand him and doesn't need any deciphering at all.

He wants to play for a big club. We are not a big club, however if we were to qualify for the CL this season he may delay pushing for a move to a big club.

Can't decide whether he wants a big club or Champions League. If it's the latter there is no point in going to Spurs. If he wants Champions League its understandable but if it's just that he wants to play for a big club then it's really about money which is disappointing. Glad he's staying until the summer though.

If he goes at the end of the season I'll harbour him no ill will. He's done his service here and has been easily our best player since he signed for us, we all know he's good enough to play in the champions league so in his prime he should be able to. Unless of course he starts kissing the badge and promising to stay (only to **** off) then I'll think he's a twat.

Absolutely. If you take his statement and his honesty, then marry that with his performances this season, you really can take him at face value; an honest, decent lad.

So it's been reported Spurs will make a £35mill offer for JayRod and Morgan - £20mill for Jay and £15mill for Morgan. OK then....<laugh>
