I think Ox would be great buy. I honestly think he is a Liverpool type player. Think he will be a really good fit. He may not get his preferred midfield place but he will be given a chance there or any of the attacking positions and it's down to him to grab the chance.
He gives us genuine pace and skill which we are lacking and can finish. Plus he actually wants to be here which is a big plus in my book!
Let's see what Klopp can do with him. So far he's been average for us and his best position so far has been wing back, which he doesn't want to play. He better get used to being on the bench as i can't see him getting much game time for you. Also too expensive for a bench player too.
Mane, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Can etc. all instantly went up a level under #kloppeffect Bench for PL and CL. Starts in FA and LC.
He is a top coach but all we can do is judge Oxo on his 6 years with Arsenal, which have been very average. Maybe Wenger is past it? We will have to wait and see.
I like Ox as a player, think Klopp will make him a bit like Lallana if he plays that central role; high energy pressing, skillful, comfortable with the ball and can pick a pass - he's very different to our other midfield options. He's got a turn of pace on him too. He's hardly set the league alight in his time at Arsenal, but he's still young and has got talent somewhere. Not convinced remotely he's worth anything like 35mill, especially in his last year of his contract, but Klopp wants him right now which is enough for me. My only big question is that he evidently wants to start games and I can't see him making the first XI when Lallana comes back, if Coutinho stays or even if Lemar signs.
Word is that Klopp wants to play Chamberlin in front of Henderson. Putting the Ox in front of the cart horse.
Never got the chance with Arsenal? Mate we played him loads but he failed to impress. Only when he played wing back is when he looked decent. We will have to see what Klopp does with Oxo.
Lets face it... he wont make a huge impact this season but give klopp 6 weeks preseason and he will be a world beater
I think complete opposite. Think he offers something that none of our current midfield 3 do which is pace and ability to run forward with the ball. I think as an an option to play CM in an attacking role or wide as cover for Mane/Salah then decent option. Yeha money is a lot, even though wages are believed to be lot less than was offered, but we have a tonne of money and it's not restricting us spending it elsewhere so what's the harm? Klopp wants him, he wants to play for us and has shown he has real quality and is still only 24. Got good 5/6 years left in him.
On a serious note, how many of them were 10 minute cameos? Agree 9 goals isn't good enough for an attacking midfielder though, will need to up that to take his game to the next level in a way Lallana and Coutinho started to do.
I'm quite happy with this. He's a solid, pacey 24 year old Brit who will give our paddling pool a lot more depth. As if Mane and Salah are going to be able to play twice a week all year! Couldn't care less about the money too, it looks like we've plenty of it to splash it now seems. City and Chelsea do well in competitions because they have £30m+ players sitting on their bench, it's high time we started doing the same. Our bench last year looked like the cast of high school musical, needs far more experience and ox does bring that and I also think Klopp will make him a much better player Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Final thoughts from me. He's a FFS player because that's what we'll be saying when he runs down a blind alley or picks the wrong pass. We'll also cheer when he flukes one in the back of the net. Average player that strengthens our squad. Hope I'm wrong.
