...... I've met some great people and this forum is no different, Sunderland supporters and 'others' alike.

Although I've only met a handful there are many more who are obviously cracking lads and good company.
(I'll be meeting some again and some for the first time at V-Joe's wedding on Monday.)

Some of those, and you, are very clever people in various ways and have a great sense of humour.

I know that humour will mean you won't find any disrespect intended or comparisons made in this clip

Great pityb= that Smug has felt the need to stop posting on the forum for the greater good of the board..Some of the crap that was posted over the last few days from the GC mob was disgusting and boringly repetitive to the extreme...As for the poster who slagged me off on this thread, I can't even be arsed to check who it was to be honest, but will say that I class Smug as a friend, and for that reason will support him and back him up when I believe he is in the right, as I do with friends in the real world..

 

I've always enjoyed that we can post on each other's boards and I haven't had any big issues over there with anyone, tho to be fair I do tone down my banter when I'm over there simply cos your board can get very confrontational and things escalate very quickly. Smug is usually one of the worst for escalating things if he's in an argumentative mood - tho he is far from the only one. I'm in the minority on here who thinks what has gone on this week was not good for your board and will have put a lot of good SAFC posters off from coming onto not606. Part of the problem is that Smug does leave himself open to this sort of thing though by starting threads to get a reaction, and laying traps to see who he can snare in his little games. The problem this week was that he laid a rabbit snare and caught a grizzly - and nobody knew how to get rid of it. With your board already having a few volatile characters who regularly step over the line themselves (if they've been drinking they tend to jump over the line headfirst - not that I'm singling out Billy and Comm). That puts your mods in an impossible situation because if they bring out the ban hammer to restore order it puts them on thin ice if they aren't bringing down a few of your own (and a few more of ours) at the same time. I feel sorry for your mods through all of this.

 

What right though? It was just some lovely immature sniping (the best kind of sniping... that's right... listen up all you Battlefield CAMPING SONS OF BITCHES, hiding in the bushes like a pussy and taking me out with your little rifle is basically cheating. Screw you). There was no right and wrong involved, well, until racism etc comes into play, that's just unnecessary. There was no twisting of football debate, no GC invasion across the board. I took it as a laugh personally!

It was genuinely funny for a while for us neutrals (and not so neutrals), and to be honest, Smug, as usual, lost badly in terms of wit. He talks of unoriginality, but honestly, once a thread like that gets going, you can just skip his posts and read the other side's, because you know exactly the cack response he's put forward.

Everyone likes a good heavo once in a while, and it's only natural a forum dominated by testosterone enriched, socially inept freaks occasional descends into such childish behaviour. Though, when it goes on for days though, it gets more than a bit stale. I think the Sunderland mods did a good job letting everyone exercise their demons, and they can all go back to normal for a few weeks

I hope the next one doesn't happen for a while, because I have some f***ing books to read!
