Aye supposedly Asoro is a genuine mega talent, by all accounts we did unreal work in getting him. PSG were rumoured to be prepared to pay £12 Million for him if I recall right?
He's the lad playing for the u18s when he a was 15/16, and the under 21s at 17/18 he's been fast tracked and is very highly rated by the club. Problem is he's not getting as many games as he should cause he keeps missing u21 games from being on the first team bench.
Still loads of big clubs want him. He'll spend more time in the youth system and more chance of disappearing without a trace at the big clubs. Hope he stays grounded.
We done well getting Maja aswell. He was released from Man City (no shame in that), 2 years ago when he was only 16 and we snapped him up.
Hopefully see Maja on Saturday. End of the day Owen was 16 when he scored first goal, age is **** all if the physicality is there.
I watched Molyneux play right wing for us one game and he literally ripped the opposition to pieces. It's funny isn't it how Embleton has really upped his game and started to shine since I've moved in next to him. I often play with the bairn out the front. Coincidence? I don't think so. He's clearly been watching me.
Hope they both become players. Maja has the strength and Asoro has a bit of brilliance that can turn games.
Asoro is still missing that becoming a man growth, you know the spurt when you can suddenly start putting body mass bout the time you need to start shaving regularly. He needs that, it should come though(Probably the factor which determines if he'll become a wide man or a central player), he's still a young un. When they hit early like with Gooch and Maja, it's easier to make that first team step. Noticed Honeyman now needs to shave regularly now but hasn't put the beef on, I'd say Honeyman is unlikely to fill out like gooch has which is ashame. There's plenty of small players make it though so a half decent career should still be on the cards for the lad. They reckon Ryan Noble's problem was physically he remained a boy. Natural finisher but bounced from pillar to post by grown men.
Noble had clear mentality issues as well, but you’re right he was tiny. The way he’s struggled even non-League shows his size cost him.
Looks very raw but you can see why he’s rated. Not flustered in tight spaces, looks strong for his size as well.
First things first Monty, we need a few more points on the board imo, the sooner the better, and then I am sure we will see Coleman giving the younger players an extended chance.
We need a Billy Whitehirst type to fire us up this League in our situation, its unlikely these two will step up, should be lining two strikers up for January incase Grabben walks.
Not talking this season, I'm talking the future, these lads are all only 18-19 years old ahead of schedule in their development. Defo need two strikers in Jan if Grabben walks. Won't get two though.
I’ve no idea who we can even go for, Coleman has said limited funds, but that’s not ‘no funds’. We’d struggle to get someone if Grabban’s calibre in if he went, I would worry I he did. I wonder if there’s any chance of an Ings, Vokes or similar on loan? Maybe, and it’s stretching it, someone like Solanke.
Ings is Pardew's top target apparently. There's a chance Defoe would come back in exchange for Grabben and contribute the same in wages. Ulloa on loan could be worth a punt too, He's not getting a sniff.
