    Alfie, Lille are in the CL but Cabaye still wanted to come here (he effectively shafted them by exploiting that clause, Lille were asking 12m until Carr discovered it).

    If a player in L1 gets an offer from an established PL side they will go. The only reason we didn't get Gameiro is because he wanted a stint at PSG (his boyhood club + super rich) and Erdinc's agent blocked his move because we wouldn't pay him enough to retire early.

    I personally think we should move on, don't want the clubs name to be dragged through the dirt again like it was when they threatened to report us to FIFA over the whole Maiga saga.

    We were reported weren't we? To my knowledge nothing has come of it since there's been no mention what so ever since the whole thing.

    To me it sounds like the Schoux chairman is as stubborn as they come or was holding out for alot more money then anyone was willing to offer.

    Ba is away to the African cup and that would leave Ameobi (s), Lovenkrands and Ranger to play with Best (provided there are no knocks in the meantime).

    We have been fortunate to get a good start but i hope Ashley isnt convinced we dont need a new striker in as a result. With Ba missing we will lack any kind of firepower as Best is pretty inconsistent. This lad knows where the goal is and looks useful.

    True if he turns out to be a good buy he will likely look for a move based on what he has done at Sochaux but with the way the club is that is what we are doing with everyone else to generate our money. Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Ba, Tiote are shining examples of players brought in on the cheap, coming good, and a potential to be shipped out for fees in the £15-30m bracket.
