http://www.skysports.com/football/n...es-not-excite-me-says-leicesters-riyad-mahrez Interesting. Obviously modern day footballers you have to take with a pinch of salt but publically saying he wants to stay in England.... Would this be the same if Barcelona came in for him I wonder? What it might mean is a difference between going all 'Berehino' and asking to leave or being happy to stay if we don't want to sell. If we were to rule out European clubs, should we really be concerned about losing him to another premier league side? Let's face it, they are all average or poor. Tottenham have been the best after us and I wouldn't think they are a big enough pull for him
He probably feels that the french league isn't competitive enough, lets face it, when your in a league where one club has so much buying power, winning it at a canter, it diminishes the league. I don't think he'd go there for the same reason that Messi or Ronaldo wouldn't go there, its just not an exciting league. Ibrahimovic is quite clearly there for the payday, I've no doubt Mahrez would goto Spain if given the opportunity though, at least there seems to be a bit of a power struggle there.
The full quote is: He is saying that he is a Marseille fan and won't play for PSG. He does say that he likes playing here in UK but if someone offers him 3 times his wage to live somewhere like Madrid or Milan, will be interesting what he says then.
Of course, as I said, always a pinch of salt where footballers are concerned as there's little loyalty. Hadn't seen that quote tbh, just what was in the sky sports link. I don't think he'd go to the French league if it wasn't to PSG, unless he has so much loyalty Marseille. If he is to leave, I think it would be Real or Barce
I think Mahrez will stay for another year to play in the Champions League here before he moves on next summer. We get a big transfer fee and he will move on with our best wishes
