I must admit I couldn't give a **** about him and his oversized head. I'm always mildly amused when these footballers get themselves into scrapes and then can't understand why they get stitched up. Are they under the impression that anyone outside of their own clubs fans like them?
They are also a bunch of prima donnas and a good target for compo. In this case, you're in Greece, police are involved, its simply about keeping how much they **** you over to a minimum.

This. Whether he is guilty or innocent I don't particularly care if I'm honest. What does show however is money doesn't buy you class. Maguire and his friends and respected wives/girlfriends must have known they would have been in for a bit of grief trawling around the various bars in the wee small hours.

There's a complete absence of information. I don't buy the "Do you know who I am?" line and I also take the story that he was protecting his sister from sinister Albanians with a grain of salt. Could be a twat, could be the victim, could be both.

That being said from experience, when dealing with greek police the best course of action is to say yes sir, three bags full sir because they are as corrupt as they come. I knew instantly the police had been up to something when they said he'd tried to bribe them. Bollocks, they'd have taken the money! Then the do you know who I am bollocks, anyone buying that is just outright gullible.
My mate paid his way out of a cell there. I've seen lads take one hell of a beating off police simply for not agreeing with a policeman. Not to defend the police, but the English contingent on the proper lash on resort places do have some right knackers. So I think they have a one size fits all policy.
