I wonder if that's the reason they were happy to get rid of him to the skunks? Not that he was under investigation, but someone with a gambling problem that's out of control might be too much of an issue to deal with, so let someone else deal with it. Years ago I was told the we were warned off signing Bernie Slaven when he was out of favour at Boro because of his gambling problems and I reckon most on here will have heard about why Micky Quinn was flogged to Coventry by the mags under Keegan, so it's possible.

Was reading yesterday that if Toney had been caught Iver there he would have got more like a 3 year ban, as he denied it throughout, was uncooperative and put bets on his own matches including his own team to lose!

 

I'd imagine they would appeal to UEFA/FIFA for any domestic ban to be a global one

 

Listening this morning they were insinuating that it may run a lot deeper and there was talk of match fixing within Italian Football

 

Italian FA have no durisdiction over English football so he won't be banned here unless FIFA get involved. As a few have said this is probably why he left AC Milan and doesn't seem to to be overly excited to be here.

 

Surely not! Not like they have form for this...................oh!
