If Pickford had done that tonight there'd be nooses hanging round the outside of St James Park.

Nick Poop is, as his name suggests, not very good, and he doesn't seem to be giving young Jordan much competition

Imagine being the richest club in the world and buying a 'keeper that can't catch a ball :cheesy:

I know nobody expects keepers to save penalties but you'd like to think they can do better than falling to the floor in a heap after the ball's already hit the net.

His feet end up virtually in the same place when he 'dives'. He is tall enough to dive and reach the posts, he might not get there in time but he should be making more of an effort than that, it's atrocious. <laugh>

I think he was hoping it being hit down the middle. The moment it left the foot he realised he was wrong but didn't have time to react fully.

I doubt he would have saved it anyway, but it was a very poor effort.

He looked a bag of nerves all night, possibly mostly down to his inability to play the ball with his left foot. The Germans knew this and were into it. Some of the back passes to him were poor mind, but it's only a matter of time before he gets caught out badly enough to concede a goal through it.

Awful for the goal really. It bounced in front of him but a goalie at that level should stop that easily, it was hardly a rocket. A long way behind Pickford I'd say and a fair way behind Henderson too IMO.

But he's in the Southgate gang , along with Dier, Maguire and a couple of others who, form or not, games or not, will go to the world cup If they can walk up the steps onto the plane

Well that will rule Maguire out, there is no way he's can possibly put one foot in front of the other enough times to get up those steps, my son showed me a compilation of his howlers, mis kicks and tripping over his own feet since going to Man Utd it was on for ****ing ages

I agree he wouldn't have saved it but he's in goal for England v Germany at Wembley and that's the best he can do? <laugh> Henderson should be number 2 imo.

Southgates loyalty will be his downfall, needs to be ruthless and drop the lads who are ut of form.

Ramsdale number 2 for me then Henderson. Pope shouldn't be in the squad not because he is at the scum but he's not as good as the others

I wouldn't be too fussed if it was Ramsdale as no2, could flip a coin tbh. But Pope should have his passport taken off him after that. <laugh>

With everyone fit and playing, Pope doesn't even get in the squad

Just attended a work conference at scum stadium!!! Nice scones. The staff said “there’s a pen you can take home”. I replied “not with that badge on it. Not even touching it. I brought my own” Sunderland pen, Sunderland tie obviously too!! The lass laughed and whispered “I agree!!”. Obviously a Sunderland lass working there

Obviously not condoning this, but why wear a Newcastle shirt to go to Sunderland City Centre? It's like asking for trouble.

That's exactly what it is . . . . wearing ****e to goad the good people of Sunderland.

    Stupid, trouble-making, bastards <doh>

Why do they always feel the need to cause trouble :embarrassed:
