Remember how he gave it away though! And they scored from rebound. Stil biggest rollercoaster been on that game:,
Scenes? Don't I ****ing know it!! Bought a pair of new trainers the day before, a pair of Hi-Tec Silver Shadow. Was in the clockstand paddock, and it was bedlam...lost one of my bloody trainers. Hung around after the final whistle to see if I could find it, but no such luck. Had to walk up to the Wheatsheaf and get the bus back to Washington with one bloody shoe on.
A similar thing happened to me at a Hartlepool match. Someone shot and missed. I was in the Rink End and caught the ball. I hoofed it back to the keeper, but my shoe flew off into the six yard box. The ref stopped the game while the keeper brought me sho back.
Statistics, are not on your side, not that this PROVES much. (See Disreali's comment on these). Curiosity go me to compare Sams record with another former NUFC Manager, but one who is more favoured. Since 2010, when Sam left Bolton and Raffa left Liverpool both have managed six other clubs. Sam was at West ham for four years and left at the end of his contract, Raffa left at the end of his three year contract. The bald statistics are not so different. However we have diffent ideas on what is unbearable. For ME, it's getting beaten, whatever the score is. Joy though is winning and while I'd prefer the score to be 4-3, I'll take a 1 -0 win any day and any way. In support of this view can I remind you that after an exciting cup game at St James Park, where NUFC had most of the play and attacked remorslessly the goal of their Third Division opponants, these opponants won 1-0. One set of Fans exited the Stadium on cloud nine having won. The N'C Fans though, having watched an exciting game of football, left rather less than exited.
Kindly don't remind me of the Gillingham play-off games. I was at the first one at Gillingham and watching Fatty Hesford running around the edge of his box before they scored one of theirs still haunts my nightmares...!
No West Ham fans were disappointed to see him go, he sorted the team out and got them promoted, but they had more than had enough of his turdball by the end. The problem was with us he combined dull as ditch water football with awful results (a decent start, then the results were dreadful) and we were dropping like a stone. Also he got bankrolled to reshape our team and brought in a whole load of dross - Cacapa, Rozenhal, Alan Smith, Gerwmi, Viduka... and that's before you get on to the embarrassment that was Joey Barton.
Every manager you have had for at least the last decade has made you boring to watch. You're blinkered with your hatred for Big Sam because he relegated you when he was our manager. It's so obvious.
Its like the old cricket commentary from England v West Indies seriers years ago - the batsman's Holding the bowler's Willey
You keep saying this, but it's horseshit, but keep thinking it. I hate Big Sam cos he's an abomination to football, he turns teams into turgid unwatchable crap, he accepts any shot job thrown at him, and you constantly get bores like Lawro signing his praises with the "Big Sam always keeps you up crap" (which is not true anymore). How things turned out as a result of relegation were great - we cleared out the dross, stormed the championship and established ourselves back as a decent Prem team. Meanwhile Big Sam made a laughing stock out of himself with the England job farce, and you went crashing through the leagues. So, if anything, I'd thank Fat Sam for that.
Surely you'd want to play for the richest club in the world and the future England manager Digne said he had joined Villa because of Gerrard. "It was the main factor. I came here for the manager," he said. Several clubs registered their interest in the left-back, including Newcastle United. Digne is Villa's second signing of the window having also brought in Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.
