haway then trippier marra, let's see if you STILL take the knee to end ALL discrimination because we are reminded of that fact just before every kick off in the premier league...or is discrimination against women gays and almost every other race 'allowed' now?
exactly , a good full back is a fantastic asset if he has good players around him. I remember when we signed Alan Kennedy, now he'd had a fabulous career at Liverpool and won every domestic honour. However, Liverpool had basically spent 10 years playing non-stop attacking football, they were the best in Europe, and he'd been used to bombing down the wing and putting over perfect crosses for their world-class strikers. Once he came to Roker, and had to become a deep defensive full-back again, he was like a fish out of water, completely hopeless. This is what Trippier faces now, if they surround him with good players he'll be great, if they think he's going to dig them out of their current defensive crisis on his own, they've got a big shock coming. Not to mention the 130k a week stick the other players have to beat him with, when the pressure's on everyone looks for a scapegoat ( Hayden has already started defending himself on social media) so I expect the back-biting to get worse as long as they remain bottom 3. Its pure bliss.
If you have a defensive problem you go for centre backs first, not a modern fullback that likes to be attacking. I suspect that his agent was on the phone to the Mags saying be would be happy to go there and since they are getting knocked back more often than not (even in the manager hunt) they were just happy yo get a well regarded player over the line.
I reckon the fans will take it in their stride. Every one sing it now. "We got (insert underwhelming name after 18 months of ****ing ya self silly over signing the worlds best) we're the richest club in the world" I think that how that song went I could watch it I was too embarrassed for them dressed like ****ing dicks.
Can’t blame him. 30 year old. 3 goals this season. You couldn’t see anyone else coming in for him!! AND……Wait for it………he’s not coming for the money
Probably been answered on this thread or another but how much have they to spend/waste on players and does it include wages etc
I've heard a couple of things. 1) 250 million over 5 transfer windows. 2) Ashley left them in a great position and they're 'in credit' with FFP for about 150 million. They could blow that this month and they'd be fine.
Don't think they will. Was listening to Radio Newcastle on the way to work tonight waiting for the team news and they had "breaking news" that Wood was travelling up for a medical. First caller on afterwards was a mag fan and he was asked what he thought of the news, "absolutely gutted" was the reply!
