Is it wrong that I am beginning to feel sorry for Steve Bruce in all of this? It is inevitable that he will lose his job and most likely reasonably soon as he's patently not the right man for them going forward but why is there complete radio silence from Staveley et al. The guy is dead man walking in this role and all of the players and staff know this and will take even less notice of him than normal - to have him hanging around cannot be any good for anybody. I really don't know why they don't just pay him his cheque now and put his assistant in change. If he is still in the dug out on Sunday he'll get the usual dogs abuse when it's really not his fault anymore - he's waiting to be paid what he's owed and it's not like they can't afford it.
His assistant may get the bullet as well. I could imagine they will be after a manager who will want to bring his own staff in, so both Bruce & Jones may get the sack. If Jones gets the job or stays on as assistant I can only think that Newcastle have failed in getting their main targets.
I wonder if any self respecting successfull manager/coach will be attracted to it could do their career more harm than good to be associated with all of the ****e. They might end up with a money grabber whose only there for the money and feck all else
can't help thinking that Mike Ashley knew exactly what he was doing when he waited patiently for this takeover deal to happen. history shows he was shafted by Hall and Shepherd, hung out to dry by the local press mafia, and treated like **** by the black & white orcs despite running a very steady premier league club for most of his 14 yr reign. He must have known what a ****-storm he was leaving behind as is starting to unfold, I hope he's having a little snigger to himself from afar, and counting his blessings to be out of that toxic cesspit at long last., riding off into the sunset with 300 million smackers in his pocket.
