Unless people have been lining up outside Downing Street for the past decade denouncing every arms sale to the Saudi's then this just all comes across as bitter and has faux outrage all over it.
I can understand where you're coming from and the point you're making but would the point of envy be as relevant if it was directed to the likes of Man City or United, Liverpool, Chelsea and so on? When Man City and Chelsea were taken over people pointed out that whatever they won was only bought and not earned, that argument has basically gone and those teams are now accepted. However, those teams are not now owned by a "consortium" where a head of one of the companies had been proven to have murdered someone in cold blood as well as having a dismal record in human rights. But looking at some of the reports now, it seems that PCP Partners are "running" the club with Staveley the public face of the takeover. I've decided to look at the whole scenario in this light - they have a crumbling stadium that needs updating (or pulled down), a brand new training ground is needed and from the sounds coming out after the takeover, they seem to want to put the infrastructure that we now have - all of which takes money. Yes it'll be a drop in the ocean to the Saudis but that's before they even start to think about the team in the pitch. Let them get on with it, we have a club that has all that they require, yes the team is 2 leagues below but we are playing good football for the first time in years, youngsters coming into the first team and have an infinity with the club. We are on an upward curve and I think when it's required KLD will invest in the team itself and it hasn't cost him £305 million AT LEAST. But here's a thought I'll leave you with - John Hall had a vision to have 11 geordies playing for them, wonder what he would think if we had 11 mackems playing for us with all these youngsters coming through?
Personally I’ve never been into arms sales, but I do take an interest in football and the integrity of the game, which I believe has sold it’s soul to the devil some time back. This is simply another nail in the coffin for our beloved national game and therefore needs to be discussed openly.
They probably want to get the Spurs game out of the way before bringing in a new man to give him a chance to get off to a good start against Palace. Definitely need a Marwood type figure, was thinking exactly the same thing earlier, as Stavely will be way out of her depth.
'lay low' ??? **** that, we as a nation should be shouting from the rooftops in protest at these murdering bastards setting up camp at St. James Park. Laying low is letting them get away with it without so much as a whimper. Shame on you!
Absolutely right. A precedence has been set here and if nothing is done it's only a matter of time before the megalomaniac in North Korea does likewise.
A genuine concern was bought up to me by a lad at work, that's a mag, but not a dickhead. Imagine some other mega rich mate of the new mags owner sees the passion of the Northeast and fancies buying Newcastles long time northeast rivals......
If they’re typical business men who cheated a bit here and there, I’d say go for it. If they’re responsible for bombing schoolchildren, dismembering journalists and throwing gays off tall buildings, tell them to fook off.
Love the statement from their LGBTQ********* group. Even better are the responses The best part of the statement is the bit where they say that by the saudis dealing with staveley shows how they are being influenced by other cultures
they deserve to be banished for being so arrogant, thick, disrespectful & ****ing stupid all in one go. They deserve to get absolutely rinsed for this. Sums up (the majority of) Mags, although I do like one of the Mag fans calling them out - to basically live with it or **** off - there’s no sitting on the fence or LGBTQ-washing this one.
Simply translated into "We're all for equal rights but if it gets in the way of us winning trophies we'll let it slide" Hypocrites to the max
I hope IS buy Sunderland, spend lots of cash on world class players, and in the meantime I can try and convince to them the error of their ways, if they don't kill me first.
