I think there’ll be hell on with the hatred for the Saudis. I don’t think the Mags have thought this through and I think most clubs and supporters will target them for abuse or some type of sanctions. It’s another step closer to Britain losing its identity, if a murderous nation can do what they’ve done what stops them from getting into our politics. What the **** are the powers that be thinking of.
Better to just keep his mouth shut and say fùck all then, rather than make himself look a right prick.
Don't give two ****s who posts what where......we have a dignity which we need to preserve. We,as Sunderland, must not get dragged into any debate with those who seek to make political capital out of this. We are Sunderland....comfortable in our own skin.....with owners who are giving us a plan for the future,to take us back to a higher level. We should detach ourselves from the Mags for the time being. They are not our current rivals.....the time will come when our rivalry will be renewed.... can't wait!......but not yet.
Agree with the thrust of this, but this is an issue that concerns English football generally. It's the difference between Putin buying Chelsea instead of Abramovitch. This is the Saudi regime buying NUFC, not some previously-unknown rich Saudi citizen. Granted it's an issue wrapped up in the usual dislike of NUFC with a bit of envy of the money they'll get thrown in, but this is an horrific regime we're talking about. I think we're perfectly entitled to get involved in the debate, personally...
Good post mate, but have to disagree. Despite the valid points you make, anything we say is going to be interpreted as envy.....we can't go there.....we have to lay low, keep our counsel, focus on ourselves and let matters up the road take its' course. There may well be a time in the future when we can point out the errors of their ways, but,at the minute, that isn't our business.
I generally like your posts, well informed and literate, however surely football is our business to discuss on this forum, whilst Sunderland is (for most) our passion, we seem to comment on just about everything else so why not this. I agree we should keep our dignity and enjoy where our club is going but I can't help but smile at the reaction of quite a few of the Mag supporters to this.
Opinions differ, inevitably, and whilst I respect yours, l will continue to stick my oar into this issue. It just feels like a line has been crossed here and l'm going to call it like l see it...
