Magnificent seven, only not for us
The number we still have to play,
They could have been seven giant feats of strength
Now seven dwarfs, more like, I´d say
If we can muster two wins out of these
I´ll be more than slightly surprised,
There´s so much at stake for the others we meet
A fact I´m sure they´ve realised
If only we could have had their incentive
And several more points on the board,
The end to this season could have given joy
To Canaries at home and abroad
But as it is, we´ve just ourselves to blame
Our flame fizzled out long ago,
And despite how much Mr. Irvine might huff
The embers are destined to stay low
Defeat today, then three draws if we´re lucky
Before Brighton do us at home,
Then defeat at Leeds before our grand finale
A win at the Delia Dome
Now just go and watch us win our next five games
To sneak into the last play-off place,
It´s just the sort of bloody daft thing we would do
Though I doubt it, myself, in this case.
But cheer up, there´s always next year!
