True Rob, but the league title, FA Cup and UEFA Cup (not European Cup but I know what you meant, major European trophy) were won by us...so how many more teams can you name that have won that holy trinity? I'll start you off with the obvious, Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea...
Funny how the magnanimity of this post disappeared so quickly! Also, didn't take long to start harking back to the 'good old days' when I imagine a great deal of posters on this board weren't even alive!
And, despite squeaking into Europe on their PL return (relegated the following season) they were slaughtered by a wondrous Christian Vieri hat trick in the first leg and never recovered from ending the first leg 4-1 down
No disgrace in being beaten away at Inter Milan in the San Siro! I notice you fail to mention that we drew 1 -1 in the return leg at Portman Road! You can't help being bitter!
What's that supposed to mean? I know you're hurting mate, I would be too if I had to watch that dross every week.
You should start a post on the Leeds forum, Warky. They have nothing but ancient history to bleat on about, so that's something your two clubs have in common
Actually you hold a Premiership record....
You are missing the point dear boy! All you boys aspire to is being like West Brom or Stoke! Like I say if that's what you want then fair enough! If you are such a big and wonderful club as you claim then you should be in the Champions League in the next 3 years!
I don't think you have much to crow about after Liverpool and Man City tore you a new one last season!
Well, let us know how you get on the next time you play them in the league. Unless it's in the cup I honestly can't see you welcoming the best teams in England to Portman Rd for a long, long time. If ever. Your club is a shambles, and you know it.
Yes but those games don't go into the records, every time a team is getting panned the commentators will go they'll need to go a long way to top the record which was when Ipswich Town got panned 9-0 by Manchester United.
I've never heard it mentioned on MOTD even when you were getting Tonked on numerous occasions last season!
It should only have been 8-0 mate, that (Ince?) freekick was a travesty, if any team had taken a freekick like that at the other end at OT the taker would have got a yellow card.
Nice to know you remember your finest moment in the 21st century so well - you beat them 1-0 in the first leg! Clearly it meant a lot, and makes those 13 dire years since all worthwhile!
We have beaten so many European teams at home down the years I forget the individual results some times! Thanks for taking the time and trouble to look it up for me! .
