    So how does this usually work guys? Do you just play one mafia game in the off-season, or more than one (but with breaks in between of course)?

    I've designed one as well so there will be another.

    Honestly I don't know as we only started doing them last autumn

  4. We played two last time but I think that was because the first game finished a bit earlier than expected (the second was a quick basic setup) and it was a two week break. We've not done it during the summer before.

  5. With it being the summer with no major international tournament, I'd imagine we'll play a few games.

    I think we should dust off the job one, tidy up what needs tidying and play that one again.

    Mafia games need running through a fee times to be really good

    I like the idea. If it's a well balanced game (as it usually is, the guys put a lot of thought into planning the games) then it would speed up the learning curve a lot for the second time around (unless it's a semi-open game, then the second game would need to be a fully open game to be fair obviously).

    Although I know Mito has planned a game as well, so maybe play the Swarbs and Mito games, then play one of them again afterwards...

    Can't wait to start, PL season has been done for some time now... Unless you're a Newcastle fan!

    This is the biggest issue I'm trying to sort out atm. Leaning towards having the super zombie control the infected but indirectly. i.e the super zombie tells me what to tell the infected and how to vote, and they have to do as I say. That way he can't be identified by infected.

    Only when someone becomes a full zombie would they directly communicate on the zombie board.

    Possibly also thinking that if an infected reveals they are infected, the cop kills them to protect the town. That solves the issue of people claiming infection and trying to get themselves converted back to town.

    Depends. Shootout if they both have bullets, if only one has bullets it's a 50% chance they kill the other, if neither have bullets then they scare each other off.

    Neither will identify the other as they will both be in masks.

    Nothing. Infected stay hidden. They perform no actions so no way to identify them - they would just show up as town.

    A lot of the game set up will depend on how many players we have - the more we have the more powerful the zombie faction can be, as the more town there are to buffer them.

    Also possibly more roles to add beyond the basic ones. Currently thinking:

    Zombies:
    1 Super zombie

    Mafia:
    1 Don - handles money, recruitment, hacking etc
    1 Thief - can steal cash and bullets
    1 Hitman - can kill town or zombies when he has bullets

    Town:
    1 Cop - can lock up one person, hunt zombies and protect the police armoury where bullets are stored
    1 Vigilante - can kill Mafia or zombies when he has bullets
    1 Journalist - can investigate for Mafia and can identify super zombie but not infected
    2 Freemasons

    Other possibles:
    1 Army virologist - able to test one person for infection every day. Infected can then be quarantined until super zombie is killed. Problem is this role would make it very boring for the infected who are captured, unless I can think up a cunning way for them to escape or be rescued...
    1 Army private - under strict orders to protect the virologist. Can't hunt zombies or Mafia but can defend them if they are targeted

    I would say if your army lad find an infected it should trigger a cure thing.

    It sounds like the person is actually on the zombie team and would want to be lynched no?

    Therefore perhaps a supercure can be administered which either kills them totally or cures them.

    After all that puts them back on the good team or they die.

    There should be a consequence of being found out no?

    Swarbs, how about if there are 1 or 2 town roles that are only concerned with fighting the zombies, they dont care about the mafia? Could work if the zombies seem overpowered as a faction?

    Either a scientist type as you mentioned, or a zombie hunting psycho type? It would be in the mafia's interest to keep them alive in case zombies get out of hand... Perhaps they could replace freemasons, instead they're the doomsday preppers that have been waiting to tackle zombies all their lives? :emoticon-0103-cool:
