I can only imagine the carnage if he played, imagine the private boards... We'd definitely have the highest post count though!

Back on topic (in true Matth style), as I mentioned before the biggest concern is if someone with a role is not active much. It nearly killed the game i was involved in (when I stepped into RHC's shoes as the cop), and when Magic wasn't around for Mafia 5.

Could we consider a rule like if someone doesn't log in for the first 24 hours their role goes to a townie, so the game isn't affected too much? And the original person becomes a townie instead? The downside is that usually they are given the private board address up front, so perhaps the narrator only sends out the private board addresses via PM's once people come online for the first time. This puts a lot of pressure on the narrator to be online though, so it's not a perfect solution I know...

Just thinking out loud, but I think this is the biggest obstacle to having a balanced game. The narrator does his utmost to balance the teams and then the journalist or cop is awol, BOOM there goes the town, etc.

 

Just don't give a role to magic and it'll be fine

 

Can someone edit the OP to include all the guys who have signed up? Keen to see what the numbers look like, it sounds like it could be quite a big group!

 

I don't think we can avoid non-active members. Things come up that mean posters don't comment.

Almost every time I get a role with a private board the other person is inactive. It's happened over and over, just pages of me talking to myself in the hope the other person on my team turns up and can catch up and help. I then spend most of the first two days trying to stop them getting lynched for inactivity making myself look guilty by which point the advantage has been a huge disadvantage!

Next time I have an inactive in a private board I'm voting to lynch them

 

I might or might not survive the first day if I am playing.

I'll count up the names tomorrow and see where we are. After next week the season is over

 

I did ask for a posting minimum and was shot down.
