there are other issues what you can all read about later. I might not agree with this one as its my interpretation of the research i did into rules. I might agree with it either i dunno but there are other stuff too that i made mistakes on that nobody saw. I did my bes tto make up but it was still a mess so i apologise openly here.

Like I said on the Mafia board MITO, I'm not having a go. You've done a great job, and hosting one of these things really is a thankless task - something's always going to be interpreted one way or the other and someone will always be unhappy about something.

So thanks for making it happen <ok>

Game is over...
Magic isn't voting meaning the Italians can team up on someone and get 3 votes... and best the other can do is 2 if Journo and Russian team up.

THink that's game set and match.

Anyway it would be nice to hear the good and bad things from this game for the next one.

I thought MITO came up with some nice ideas to encourage mafia involvement to earn cash, but on the other hand I was too worried to try them in case the other mafia team recognised what we were doing.

If there are multiple mafia teams they should have different tasks to earn money.
 
Not making excuses, but certainly didn't help us with Magic not playing (putting us 1 down) and then the whole role switch and giving it to RHC who made himself look so guilty <doh>

I'm guessing the Italians are Obi, Freeman and Mikey was recruited? Bloody newkie fans huh... last time we invite them to come play <grr>

Great idea with the money, and the bonuses, but some of them seems a bit convoluted and too much risk of giving up the strategy.

MITO did admit to making a couple of decisions on the fly when unexpected situations came up, which is where some of the issues came in, so I think there will definitely be a benefit to a quick group review before game 6.
 
Good work MITO, I obviously don't know about different tasks and stuff but does seem you may have made it too complicated for yourself at times with the amount of actions taking place which may have led to one of two mistakes... perhaps just need to keep it more simple next time <ok>
 
please note that each team had secret stashes and there were some complex rules that I found i had to re-research as peoepl came up with scenarios of how to play i could not dream of.


however i made a major blunder last night in what i did in the night time due to rushing and messing up the order I had notes i followed and when things changed i didn't pick up on the consequences of thsoe changes

considering the game was slow that was pretty thick.

3v1v1 is a slam dunk but..... both the russians and the town have one hit left... one via money and one via all those classified building up allowing a hitman purchase... those of you who thought the game was unbalanced shoudl know both the cop and journo had access to the hitman and the mafia had zero investigative powers

The cop had the moeny but died before using and the journo only just crossed the threshold tonight.

Even wiht two kills the reailty is the lynch is 3v2 at best if there was a real debate it could be worse

that means one player dies and their kill goes too.

therefore if the remaining person selects an italian they get a 2v1 scenaior thereafter and still lose

therefore i propose to share the baord now and say.... sorry for mucking it up i tried my best.

that goes to russians and to gerrez especially.

Oh and finally... once you read board you'll all go mad cos i left the dead talking which is hypocritical of me but i felt i was a pissy little bitch last game and it would be better.

never been a fan of multi mafia teams myself.
personally always preffered one mafia team of maybe 4 and more varied roles for them.
Multi teams mean too many hitmen, too many recruiters, with a serial killer AND a vigilante to contend with aswell it just becomes a cluster ****.

Good game tho MITO with some interesting ideas (loved the money thing)

you actually all did have slightly different taks and the vigilante had some risky ones too.... everyone had different tasks... nobody asked me if this was the case.

Also to answer one question above... nobody asked me about the double kill... From day zero the rules stated you can only recruit once. it never said you could not do other things twice. tonight actually when you look you will see IBWT was targeted by BOTH mafia and i had to coin toss to see who actually killed him.

I was just about to write something similar. People keep coming up with all these fancy rules etc.,, but the more you have, the harder it is to conceive every possible situation beforehand and know how to resolve them. And it means that people are constantly being confused and rereading the rules, which isn't really the point of the game. I would suggest that the next game be simpler, just so that people know where they stand better.

This isn't meant to sound ungrateful though. Thanks very much for the game MITO - as Swarbs said, it's a thankless task and one which requires a whole load of work, even though we all have lives offline as well. So cheers MITO!

An congratulations Italians.
 
Good game chaps.

I think MITO deserves great credit for running an imaginative and deep game, and running it in a timely and efficient manner. I do think things were a bit convoluted in places and I found myself constantly wondering about how X works if Y happens and so on, so much so that I didn't even ask some because I felt I was badgering him too much. <laugh>

It was certainly interesting as someone who has played a lot of very basic mafia set-ups in the past (1 mafia team, investigative cop, medic, vigi, maybe a role blocker or something, sometimes serial killer), but there were definitely a few holes in it, but that's to be expected from an experimental set-up.

I liked alot of it, just felt one team of 4 or 5 mafia would have been better than 2 teams of 3.
2 hitmen, a vigi and a serial killer means up to 4 people a night can get popped, too much.....

Actually 5 with the lynching <laugh>
 
Think Magic ****ed town a bit being inactive, but maybe he's had a legitimate real life reason. Think if it had been straight up announced in the day 1 paper that Astro was mafia that would've put town in a great position.

Also have to say no offence to the guys but RHC and Bobby put forward two of the worst defences from town roles I've ever seen haha!
