The following information is correct but not complete. There are a couple of twists in addition to what is here. These are dangerous times - there may be consequences to what you say and do, and don't assume things are exactly the same as previous games or threads
Welcome to the island of Knosujii. Here live town people and mafia. The town people want to get rid of the mafia and are willing to kill to achieve it. The mafia want to eliminate as many town people as necessary to guarantee their survival. Try to work out who is on your side and who isn't. Every day you can vote for a person to be lynched by writing their name in bold. Try to give a reason why you chose them (it helps with the guilt). Or vote for no lynch if you think that means there won't be blood on your hands. Votes are counted at 8pm GMT (going by the forum clock). If multiple options are tied for votes then fate decides. When players die there is a special place they can visit to talk about things and cry. It's like the ending to Lost (spoilers).
Town roles:
JOURNALIST - Can perform investigations and writes for the town newspaper which is delivered after 10am.
DETECTIVE - Can perform investigations.
INVESTIGATIONS - An investigator can follow their target for the day to discover their activities. If recruited by the mafia they retain their abilities.
COP - Can put a player in custody for the night. The prisoner is released just after 10am the next day. The same player cannot be arrested two nights in a row. While in custody a player cannot use their powers. The cop's identity is known at the start of the game: Skylarker* is a dedicated public servant who cannot be recruited by the mafia or initiated by the freemasons. He can resist assassination with a shootout.
VIGILANTE - Has a rifle called Charlene and 2 bullets. Can take Charlene out to paint the town red any night. He is dedicated to the town and if the mafia try to assassinate or recruit him he will resist. If he has ammunition left this means a shootout. If he has no ammunition left this means he dies.
SHOOTOUTS - The cop and vigilante can defend themselves against the mafia. A shootout consists of a coinflip for whether the target is killed, and a coinflip for whether the mafia is killed.
FREEMASONS - There are initially 2 freemasons who have a private board to communicate on. They can initiate a 3rd member (not the cop). Freemason membership or initiation is invisible to investigations.
Mafia roles:
MAFIA ASSASSIN - Professional murderer.
MAFIA RECRUITER - Can make an offer most people cannot refuse.
MAFIA HACKER - Can replace the journalist's article with their own one. This only works once and then the journalist updates their security.
MAFIA HEAVY - Each day can force any player to vote for a specific person (or for no lynch). If the player does not have the correct vote made at 8pm they die.
PMs for player roles must be sent before 8pm to have effect that night. The exceptions are the journalist (and hacker) who has a 10am deadline for the newspaper article to be published, and the heavy who has until 10am to name his target. Try to PM your decisions early to avoid problems.
Players may not communicate with each other through PMs. Make sure you have space in your PM inbox to receive my updates. There are quicktopic.com boards set up for the mafia, freemasons, and for dead players. Obviously do not share the links to these boards.
Order of events at night (if taken):
