Mafia # 4 sign up thread

Im in IF I don't have to post 10 per day. I barely post 10 per week. Staying silent is a tactic, just like talking too much is. Just make it so that you have to post at least once, and you must vote or say (no vote).

 

Have no idea what this is about. Count me in though

Essentially, it's a game of informed minority against uninformed majority. A small group are "Mafia" (name can vary) and their job is to kill off the town until they are no longer the minority. The rest of the people are town- and have to kill off the mafia.

Each day there is a vote and whoever gets most votes is killed.
At night Mafia might one townsperson to kill.

... slightly more to it than that- but that's the gist... it's surprisingly addictive.

Has anyone sent invites out to people in the game previously? Haven't seen Swarbs reply to this thread yet, for example- he might not have seen it. He might have suggestions for a couple from his board that might join in too. (same goes to all our visitors- if you know people on your own boards that might want to join in- pass the word around).

 

Problem is with rivals is people take them out for being non LFC fans (RHC & Swarbs )

 

RHC hasn't got a clue / care about playing this game. Not only did he kill Swarbs because he's a Man Utd (can't complain ), he also stupidly gave away his role too

Bod and AFC haven't done too bad though. I think the only other non-Liverpool players we've had are Minxy and BRB. Neither took it too seriously and I suspect neither could dedicate the time the game ends up demanding.

 

Can I be ninja assassin?

 

Not sure this is a fair ruling if implemented. Take Sky's situation last as an example, are you really going to punish him for something like that? (not that he'd care too much at that point either mind)

Using the last Mafia game that lasted nine days and applying the 20 posts a day rule, only three people (AFC, Milk and I) posted over the 180 requirement to average at least 20 a day.

You made 132 comments but I've no idea how to work your average out since you were dead for most of it.

There were 1,702 comments in total. That's 189 comments per day and we had fifteen players. That averages out at just 12.6 comments each. Obviously, this doesn't take deaths into account again.

It's up to astro as game host

I just suggested it due to how the last game fell down before and yes before the issues with site

For me it's not to punish people with real life issues and lads should always just pm the host

My feeling is how can you get a feel for the game without at least being on and I'd strongly contend reading back will take 15-30 mins and so you could easily throw on 10 posts... How can you vote without reading back is another way to look at it....

It's just an idea from someone who is not hosting

I'd also suggest to all to state what you liked/disliked to give astro a chance to create whatever game he does create

 

I know what you was getting at, people purposely not posting so you can't judge is a cop out IMO. However, nor can we try to force people into commenting on a internet forum Fair enough though, I'll leave it to Astro to decide.

The first decision I need is what basic style of game; multi-team, that vampire stuff, ...?

At the moment the default game is 1 innocent team, 1 mafia team so if you do not want this then say so

I will make decisions for what I think is best but this is your game

 

I preferred the multi-team but that could be because I had a KGB role though. I think the innocents from the last game will be able to judge better.

 

As an innocent in the last game I thought the multi-team made it too difficult to be sure of any connections between people. The town did quite well at the start but that was random luck

Thats what I suspected. I'd like us to give the growing bad guys game such as vampires or zombies
